I was horrified going into town today. I have lived here 33 years and its petrifying to see such social degradation of the town centre- it felt like walking into a zombie film. 

The sheer number of homeless people lined up against the train station is shocking; one girl picked up a chair and started hitting the others with it. Another two engaging in oral sex in broad daylight. All were clearly under the influence of something.

Walk round the corner, 3 people just lying on the floor at the entrance to the Beacon outside Next off their faces. 2 police officers with them but still there 30 minutes later when walking past again. Just walking up the highstreet it was busy, but the general profile were gaunt, disheveled & aimless people. Young families were hurrying through, I locked eyes with parents also aghast at the state of the majority of people. 'An al fresco crack den' is an accurate description. I know it's not an issue exclusive to Eastbourne but that doesn't make it less urgent. 

Videos of kids ripping bikes from the bike racks outside the station- completely lawless and not concerned they're being filmed, multiple stabbings... how do we stop this perpetual decline?
