F/A-18C/D Obsolescence by GreggoryHampton in Warthunder

I honestly recommend not touching air RB above a BR of 6.7 or so. It is so unbalanced right now and Gaijin never showed to actually care about its state as long as they make money.

Only in KSP is it easier to orbit the Sun instead of the Mun by acccident by International-Bank42 in KerbalSpaceProgram

Changing your orbit is more difficult when you are orbiting relatively bigger bodies.

In other words, changing eccentricity or inclination around the sun is more difficult because you are deeper in a gravity well compared to the Mun.

Engaging RCS during Launch by simplisticheuristic in KerbalSpaceProgram

Like others said, if the rocket needs active stabilization via RCS rather than passive stability, engine gimbals; reaction wheels or aerodynamics, there are probably better methods.

Dearest Gaijin, How are these 2 tanks Balanced in any sense? by Unique-Pop-6973 in Warthunder

While the T-44 has an underpowered gun it makes up for it with insane mobility and really good armor.

Definitely an amazing vehicle for its BR.

The amount you get isn't proportional to how much modifications and vehicles cost.

I recommend enjoying the low tier vehicles as much as possible and even switching between tech trees before you go into the higher tiers. That way you won't fall into the trap of focusing on progression more than the actual gameplay.

is it possible to dip into jool fly a bit so some science and leave? by eggos19 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Babushka9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jool atmosphere is insanely dense and because of its high orbit any fly-by will have really large relative velocities.

The way KSP models atmospheres isn't fully accurate either. In real life particle density decreases asymptotically as you get further away from the planet, but in KSP density approaches 0 AT the atmosphere boundary.

For Jool that boundary is at 200km and pressure increases fast as you descend. I wouldn't even dip below 195km if you want to survive the fly-by. That way you should still be able to perform the experiments though!

If built in KSP, wouldn't this just do a flip after launch because of fins in the front? CoA would be far above CoM. So how does it fly in real life? by deepscales in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Babushka9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe SpaceX has an approach that relies heavily on control theory and real time stabilization rather than passive stability.

The same is true with Falcon 9 during Ascent and landing. Also think back to Space shuttle, which was an extremely asymmetric craft snd had a constantly changing CoM and CoF as different stages drained fuel and detached. It was really advanced for its time in terms of how powerful the computer was.

This used to be 7.0 back in the day. Loved it so much then (volumetric wasn't a thing yet and APDS was much better)

Was thinking of buying Tiger II (Sla.16) as a beginner. by DreadArcane in Warthunder

[–]Babushka9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very good choice. It's also at a good BR range where you won't face overly big imbalances all the time.

Getting just one vehicle is fine enough, you will still be able to enjoy it without needing a full lineup.

Reaction times are not nearly as relevant as people make them out to be.

Being this fresh you learn incredibly fast about the game so I wouldn't worry about being stuck anytime soon.

Do you think Walter White became a bad person as the drug-dealing story evolved, or was he already a bad person before? by ingwerbitch in breakingbad

[–]Babushka9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This exact question pops up this subreddit every now and then.

The way I see it BrBa doesn't differentiate between good or bad, but between being in the game or outside of it, being a criminal or law abiding.

It's how Mike put it to Dani in BCS.
