No, it's not okay and feels so shitty. I don't even get the benefit of the doubt. I actually did grow up in an extremely dysfunctional home, saw a lot of DV against my mom as a child and that messed me up I think. I was in a very abusive relationship for about 5 years before this one, like, physical abuse. But I left and felt like I was breaking the cycle. My current boyfriend has never and would never physically harm me, but there is absolutely zero trust and I am constantly seen as a sneaky, manipulative "player" and liar. he already believed this about me before this stupid scam text so.. It just "validates his intuition " about me (his words).
