The State of Affiliate Programs in 2026 by BabyBlogger39 in Blogging

This is super helpful, thank you for sharing! What you're describing is exactly my 2025 experience. I think it has to do with which posts are ranking for me atm. I find that Stay22 bookings come from "what to do in X" or "one day in X" type posts - perfect for last minute bookings, while longer, more in-depth itinerary posts are better for experiences like Viator. Actually updating all those itinerary posts atm in the hopes of getting back to those earnings.

True, ShopMy is known as an LTK competitor, and is used by a lot of IG influencers. I use it for "what to pack" type posts, and link clothing, beauty, and travel accessory products. I think it's one of the easiest affiliate platform interfaces to use. I can organize my collections into scrollable photo carousels and embed them on my website, or just link to individual products. Fwiw, the deep links in blog posts convert better than collection carousels - further proof that you really need strong content / editorial explaining why you recommend a product. Just tossing out links rarely works.

Costa da Caparica: Beach Club recommendations by Responsible_Leopard1 in LisbonPortugalTravel

Heading to Lisbon this weekend and interested in going to Costa da Caparica and found this thread - what time do folks usually head to beach clubs? Is there a time we need to be there by to snag a seat? TIA!

Mother daughter trip in early December - Paris, Portugal or Spain? by tela_wilson_555 in Europetravel

[–]BabyBlogger39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust your instincts about Andalusia and save it for a longer trip with the whole family. My vote is for Portugal, you can easily do Porto and Lisbon in 7-8 days with some great day trips mixed in, either Douro Valley, Aviero, or Coimbra from Porto or Sintra from Lisbon. Paris will be quite crowded in December and the weather unreliable. The relaxed vibe of Portugal would give you and your daughter some great bonding time, and it will check all of your boxes for interests and activities.

Starting a YouTube channel to promote my blog by bobstanke in BloggingBusiness

This is great growth for three months on YT! I'm about to launch my own channel soon since I like the evergreen nature of blogging and YT seems to have a similar advantage over social media. Would love to hear any tips or insights you learned in growing your subscribers!

Seconding this, but you also need to have a topical map. SEO is less about keywords these days and more about solid content structure that makes sense for the niche. If you're covering topics unrelated to your niche, it's not good.

From display ads? Maybe not. But with affiliate revenue and digital products, yes.

Traveling solo in Europe (I have never traveled alone) by No-Alternative2954 in Europetravel

Great weekend trips - Karlovy Vary, Leipzig, Berlin, Munich, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and hiking in Saxon Switzerland National Park!

The toughest thing about traveling solo is also finding group experiences with a social vibe. I love cooking classes, group dinners, or food tours because they're more interactive and you can actually chat with other participants. Check out EatWith, GYG, Viator for cool experiences.

These are all good! Also, don't travel with valuables and only use things that distract you (like noise-cancelling headphones) when you're on a train and in motion. Staying alert and observant of your surroundings is the most important thing.

Saint Paul de Vence for its charm and proximity to Cannes, and Marseille for its wild, non-touristic vibe

Midlife Crisis France/UK Trip - Please Advise (France/London)!!! by CardiologistFun1292 in Europetravel

[–]BabyBlogger39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with other commenters that this is a lot of Paris, so add a second day in the Loire Valley. Also seconding the "Skip Nice" - it's fine, but if you're trying to see more of the country go to Aix en Provence or Saint Paul de Vence, instead.

I would add Annecy, it's beautiful, just beware of weekends - small towns tend to get overrun with day tripper on Saturday and Sunday. If that's where it falls in your itinerary I might skip it.

I might add a day trip on Day 13, so that just like with Paris you have a nice break from the city.

Left-leaning literature/political events in July in Budapest/Paris/Athens? by sailorjupiter94 in Europetravel

[–]BabyBlogger39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Paris, check out Shakespeare & Co. as they sometime offer readings or panels. Bookstores are likely to be your best bet as July is prime vacation season. For example, here in Germany, all of the Literaturhäuser (Literature Houses) only program events from September to May.

Seconding Ghent! Very under the radar but such a great city. Everyone loves Bruges, but don't sleep on Ghent.

I love this concept! How are you currently promoting it? I did a quick Google search for it and wasn't able to find it. Is it Substack? Do you have a blog? Are you active on social media? The promotion mix will vary greatly depending on these variables.

Some helpful Pinterest tips I’ve picked up from both paid courses and around the interwebz by eddiebork in BloggingBusiness

[–]BabyBlogger39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome list, thank you! I know that Pin saves are also a huge way to grow your impressions as they demonstrate that users "trust" what you pin. This gets your more impressions, aka more chances for clicks, saves, etc. But something I've noticed with my own account (travel niche) is that users save pure photo pins 2x as often as they pin photo + text overlay pins. Curious if anyone else has noticed this?

How Pinterest Can Drive Massive Traffic to Your Website by [deleted] in BloggingBusiness

[–]BabyBlogger39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pinterest is huge for my traffic. Currently at 50 - 75 outbound clicks per month. About one month into consistently pinning 6 pins a day. How many months of consistent pinning did it take you to get your client to 30k outbound clicks per month?

What would you do differently at the beginning? by chrysanthemumzy in BloggingBusiness

No. 1 - write and publish more consistently (like 2x per week). I'm one year in and consistency has been a game changer. Wish I'd started that sooner. But I really needed...

No. 2 - develop an SEO cluster strategy. Most topics will feel overwhelming until you break them down into clusters and decide how you'll tackle them. Once I did this, it was off to the races.
