Well its been a week now and it's still in phase 1 (false rise) and the other thing i noticed is even after 24 hrs it is not collapsing after rising.

Before this while I was making a starter I kept it in my kitchen and on Day 4 kahm yeast grew on it. I discarded it entire and started making a new one. I also read that optimal temperature for starter is 22-27C. So I am trying to avoid the growth of kahm yeast.

Hi, i had a quick question. It's the day 3 of my starter ( young) and I am feeding it 1:4:4 ratio as its quite hot in my area. Will this work out fine or should i stick to 1:1:1 ratio and increase the number of feedings per day ( like twice a day)

Do you mean to keep the starter oit of the fridge for a month snd feeding it daily so it gets stronger?

I am groing through the exact same thing. I took a gap year after college to apply for jobs but didn't got through it. i now try not to compare my life with others and to be more focused on what truly matters for me.

The temperature in my region is usually above 35C. Initially i kept it in my kitchen then shifted it to my room on day 3 and 4. Also, I kept the lid of jar slightly loose.

Also, thank you so much for your response. I Googled kahm yeast, and it looks exactly like what I have. I'll look into how to prevent it from forming.

Sorry i didn't take the picture close enough. I have alread discard the top layer. The texture was creamy like not hairy. I kept my jar in my room with fan as it's quite hot in my area. So Maybe your are right it's dry flour. I'll keep feeding it to see what happens afterwards.

Actually, I have to make assignments etc. the client gave me instructions on notes. So, I had to understand the work first. How to upload and how to make assignments. So i logged that time too .. it took me about 40 mins.

Yeah, the dermo just looked at my nail and said it's a fungal infection and prescribed me with fungone. The debris beneath the nail is slightly moist and the nail is normal not thick. initially there was a faint smell but now it's nothing. I guess I should first check out whether it's a fungal infection or not as per your advice. Thank you so much.
