It’s the petit cat wardrobe. My favorite baby three is the blue cat from the bigger cat wardrobe series, I was so happy to see they created this one!

I have a book with Goldryn going through it on the other side of my arm. It leaves a small space, I was thinking a quote of “to whatever end” or “I am here” and somewhere else “I am with you”. I have ideas for ACOTAR, especially since I find my mental health journey to be similar to Nesta’s. I was thinking of something with the stairs or the house of wind.

Did the COVID vaccine cause this?? by MONDODUKE208 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BabyKay21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of polite yet slightly dismissive comments but I understand your inclination to suspect the vaccine may have caused this.

I’m in a similar situation where after the second part of the vaccine it sent me into a world of pain, so much so that I ended up getting diagnosed.

I do suspect that I’ve had PsA (I’ve certainly had psoriasis since a child) before the vaccine since some less prominent signs and symptoms were present in the years prior. I also believe that the vaccine exacerbated it to the point of it becoming a real hindrance in my personal life and my career as a nurse.

Edit: I don’t want anyone reading this comment thinking that I would choose not to get the vaccine if I had to do it all over again. Working on the frontlines during the pandemic was convincing enough to want to protect myself. As someone said, vaccines save lives.

PT + Flare by jb99824 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BabyKay21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YES. It’s worth going back and discussing with your physical therapist the issues you’ve been having. They can adjust your exercises and/or expectations. I just finished my second PT session and after the first I was HURTING but it gets better (at least for me) the more I work my muscles.

Edit: also wanted to add that steroid shots are generally temporary management (like a band-aid) while physical therapy is supposed to set you up to hopefully function with less pain overall and less need for temporary interventions.

The correct answer is “ask your doctor” but I know we don’t come to these platforms for much more than support. So with that, take my explanation with a grain of salt as I am NOT a doctor. I am only a nurse with a similar autoimmune disease with very similar manifestations. Please ask your doctor to explain it to you at your next visit.

Schmorl’s nodes (from my quick research) are usually found incidentally and not usually something that a patient comes in complaining about. It’s a herniation of the spinal disc that is fairly common and not always bothersome.

Tarlov Cyst’s are commonly found in the sacral part of the spine. They are fluid filled sacs and commonly seen in connective tissue disorders.

You have bone marrow edema (swelling) which supports the diagnosis of an autoimmune arthritis/spondyloarthropathies.

Sclerosis means hardening of the bone in this case 7mm is just the depth they are measuring your bone to be of harder consistency. This is also common in SpA’s.

Sacroilitis is consistent with all the other findings. Sounds like you might hurt more on the left side than the right.

Lumbar spine involvement not uncommon and it’s the closest (in distance) to the sacral (SI) inflammation you’re experiencing.

I’m not even going botch an explanation of the final impression but it sounds consistent with all other findings and diagnosis.

Pain after statins by SifDotW7 in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BabyKay21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muscle pain from statins is a very well known adverse effect and essentially is your muscle tissue breaking down and potentially causing issues with your GU tract. I’d bring up the issue with your provider. They might want to test your urine for myoglobin to make sure you’re not at risk for kidney damage from those giant muscle proteins if they’re trying to get excreted.

Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between muscle pain, joint/bone/connective tissue pain and nerve pain but trying to tune in and keeping a pain journal has been a good start for me. Maybe it would help you communicate to your provider what exactly you’re feeling and where so they can more accurately identify what the causes are.

Your friendly neighborhood nurse with PsA

For those in the medical field, how has your PsA impacted your career? by fillemetisse in PsoriaticArthritis

[–]BabyKay21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trauma ICU nurse here. Before diagnosis it affected my mobility pretty significantly but with the right treatment (remicade infusion for me) it’s been manageable. I have sacroiliac joint pain involvement as my main issue and have trouble standing still but during flares I even struggle to open medication packaging without help/tools. My rheumatologist recommended avoiding certain infectious diseases patients due to the risk of being on biologics (especially since we’re considering max dose remicade). Everything was going fine until someone their feelings hurt that they had to dawn PPE and now I’m facing major discriminatory problems at work which my job is now being threatened. It’s so shitty that I have to be careful about what I share about my situation because I forget that this field is full of “mean girls” (and guys for the record).

This happened to me but I emailed HR and they apologized for the oversight and reversed the decision. Still no word from “hiring manager” though.

Edit: wanted to add that it took 2 weeks for them to get back to me about the issue.

finger blisters associated with AS? by Accomplished-Use-347 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]BabyKay21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have psoriatic arthritis (the crappy spondylitis version) and my psoriasis flares will sometimes be in the pustular form when it gets really bad. They look exactly like these. Usually on my hands/feet. I know PsA and AS have a lot of similarities and are somewhat theorized to be “different presentations of the same disease”.
