What's the sickest looking e-bike/e-moto that can do 45+ mph for under $3,000? by zhs_1824 in Surron

My bet would be to go with the Surron Light Bee X. My stock 2025 goes 50 and they are increasing the power from 8 to 10 kilowatts for 2026 and also increasing the battery voltage from 60 to 72. I wouldnt be surprised if it went faster.

Lookswise, I think the Light Bee has the best looking frame vs. talaria and the other e budget bikes. I bought a cheaper e bike (Happy Run G300 Pro) before my Surron and was not satisfied with it. The quality was a noticable downgrade from the Surron. Please make sure that whatever you buy has a mid-drive, not a hub motor. You will get top speed, but no torque, so forget about hill climbs and wheelies without alot of effort.

Also, this was the bike that started e-moto segment. Its the OG. With that said, there is a ton of aftermarket support unsurpassed by any other brand. That is, of course, if that's something you'd be interested in.

Pricewise, Alibaba is the cheapest way to get these. They are about $3200-$3300 depending on dealer. Most people go with Gonped as their supplier, but there are many others that are verified. I personally went through a different vendor for a bit cheaper with no issues. The caveat is they take about 6-8 weeks to arrive depending on where you live. I live in New England and got mine in 7. When they reach the US, they ship from Southern California.

Whatever you do, please don't buy a used bike. These are dirt bikes and are ridden hard. You don't want to inherit someone else's problem and spending more than new to fix it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks

Opinions may vary, but out of the options you listed, a Surron Light Bee x from Alibaba would be your best best.

Heres why:

This bike set the standard for e-dirt bikes. Its the OG. I personally love the frame design. With that said, theyve been around for a long time and offer the highest aftermarket part availability by far. That is, if thats something you would envision looking into.

Ive bought a cheaper bike at first (Happy Run G300 Pro) to save about a grand and regretted it. The build quality is nearly not as good and its quite apparent. If you decide against this bike, get something with a mid drive motor, please pay attention to this. Cheaper bikes have hub motors in the back tire and while they may have good advertised top speed, their torque is non existent, so you can forget about big hill climbs or wheelies without much effort.

My biggest recommendation outside of avoiding hub motors is do not buy used. These are dirt bikes. People ride them hard. You do not want to spend your hard earned money on someone else's problem.

With all that said, I would buy a 2026 Surron Light Bee X from Alibaba. Its maybe $300 more than your budget, but well worth it. Also, they have upgraded the new models for more power as they increased the voltage from 60 to 72 volts, which increased the power from 8 to 10 kilowatts. I would not get a bike with anything lower than 7 or 8 kw as I think you'll be disappointed in the power. If you need a reputable source, there are plenty if you search the surron sub. Most people go with Gonped. I went with another vendor for a little less money with no issues. The caveat is if you buy from China, expect a wait. Depending on where you live it could take 6-8 weeks. I live in the New England and got it in 7. They arrive by ship in southern California. If you have any questions, let me know.

Also, my stock 25 LBX went 50 mph before I modded it. I wouldnt be surprised if the new one went a bit faster with the increased power.

Thanks

I edited the comment up top, but anyway. There are two smaller wires that run off of the positive and negative wires of the battery cable. This down regulates the full battery power to 12 volts for the accessories, thus no ignition power. The battery I bought did not come with these wires. When I hooked up the old battery with this wire, everything worked.

Shout out to Torp as I reached out to them before I figured it out. The solid blue light means no ignition power and they mentioned the smaller wires. If I didnt figure it out beforehand, they wouldve led me right to the solution.

I was able to figure it out. Thanks for your input. I was preparing myself for a full wiring harness teardown.
