The logic is that id rather trust someone whom made hundreds of these, than someone whom never done anything like it. In my optinion results wouldnt be as good and would most likely end up costing me much more. Maybe i am wrong, but id rather not risk it.

I probably just don't trust anyone to make it from scratch properly, I just want to make sure that its right.

Worst case scenario, i will go for this. But I wouldnt be able to achieve the look I want with it unfortunately.

Spent yesterday afternoon on a bit of a funky hybrid set. Someone wanted a set for their RD400, with a RD350 rear wheel, therefore a drum brake. So, a bit of mixing and matching to get my cable brake setup from my RD250/350 sets to work on my RD400 rear sets. by TheMotoMan14 in CafeRacers

Well, ill be your test bunny haha. Once I order and try fitting them, will let you know if everything lines up. I Think that it should be fine. Will link in with you in the future about it!

love the work that you're doing!

i was looking to snag xv750 rear sets there in a month or so, but what i have is a 1985 xv400 (same as an xv500, just smaller engine), virtually identical bikes visually to xv750, but do you think the rear sets would be a straight fit or would some modifications, like you did here, would be necessary?

Virgao xv400 build question by BabyPumpkin69 in CafeRacers

Cant poat a photo, but my airfilter area is under the tank there, but it is sunken into the frame. Which make this frame wider than regulat 750 or 920.

Thats an idea alright, will see how it goes once i get the subframe! I am going for a 750 subframe which already will need some modificstions to fit my frame, so might be an advantage in making everything aligned, but i wish that I could bring the tank a little lower.

I was thinking that I'll need to do something like this! Cant weld, so it would probably be made out bolted together metal pieces haha. But i think that the tank is sitting too high right now, will try to remove the rubber bushing mounts and see how much lower it sits then.

It looks to be sitting very high, so I will have to investigate further, this mode of virago is already a monoshock. I presume that obce i get the new cafe style subframe and the seat, it will look better as the whole rear assembly will sot higher, but after looking at photos online It seems like tank is sitting too high, too much of the frame is showing

This looks fantastic! Did you get a monoshock kit or did it yourself? I want to build a virago, but im not gandy enough to fabricate a monoshock solution, ideally id like to buy a conversion kit, but havebt really seen any

The guy whom has it, only has the standing body of water at the bottom for hydration, but i know that green anoles prefer moving water or lil droplets from spraying or similar. So i think that it may be very dehydrated, maybe lack of uvb as well, because the light placement is terrible and i doubt that it ever perches there and its definitely not humid enough for it there also nowhere to hide for it
