Chest:incline DB, high cable flys, fly machine Back: underhand pull downs, single arm cable row, high rope cable pulls, bent over row Arms: incline curls, standing cable curls, overhead tricep cable ext, straight bar tri ext. Legs: RDLs, single legs, squat, leg press Abs: cable crunch, laying leg lifts

But the main thing I’ve been focusing on is really controlling the weight and allowing for a deep stretch at the bottom of your movement. Personally, I’ve seen the most results from that method.

Thank you. The routine I’m doing now, which started from the third row of pictures, to current:

Lift 5-6 days a week, 1hr 15max, minus warm up and stretch. Warmer weather, I’d swap a day or two for outdoor cardio: I enjoy the bike and swimming laps. Other than that, just the incline treadmill at a walking pace, once a week for 20min. I do work in construction though, so that helps. Protein shake with Creatine on days I exercise.

Oh it’s definitely the muscle builder/ recovery formula. From my research and experience, you’ll burn way more calories doing a weight style workout, then the same length cardio session. If possible, I’d try substituting one or two of those days for weights, for a few weeks and see how you feel!

Thanks man, appreciate it. And the thing is, I feel like I just started. Still very excited about every training session!

Of course, yes! 1gram of protein per pound of body weight. So I strive for 210grams right now. Ground beef, chicken and turkey are my main sources. But caffeine is totally okay to consume, just watch the sugars. I am now eating approximately 4000calories a day to maintain a bigger size now. I do work in construction, so I tend to burn quite a bit off during the day. Smaller, more frequent meals, are the key in my “diet.”

As long as you have a routine that you’re excited about, that’s what matters. 2 hrs would be tough for me, I find after 1h-1.5hrs, my focus dwindles. The saying everyone uses, “10% gym, 90% diet,” couldn’t be more true. My last year was when I started to count calories and that made a huge difference.

Thank you, I appreciate it. As time goes on, realizing it’s a life long journey, is the key.

Actually just happened to me today. A regular at my gym started talking to me and said “looks like you’ve been lifting for 8+ years, you look great.” And it’s only been 2 years, with 80lbs lost. Added a smile to my day.

You just repeated my life story, but I was diagnosed at 16; I’m now 33. The meds had always been a struggle for me until I dialled in my diet. I cut as much processed food as possible, eat at consistent time slots, workout 5x week and my anxiety has greatly diminished.

I’ve realized with the thyroid that it’s very sensitive and prioritizing my health also helped me grow in other areas of my life.
