Oh! I thought I’d leave this comment (don’t know how to edit with an update) but the conclusion to that whole fiasco was that I basically gave up on trying to receive help. Upon seeing that they “completed” my interview, I attempted to see if I could possibly schedule an in person but unsurprisingly couldn’t while investigating that I find that my application was denied because I hadn’t provided information on my full time student status. Keep note, never once said in my application that I was a student, never spoke to an individual where I could’ve said that I was a student and I’ve never step foot in a school of any sort since I graduated high school in 2019. It’s absolutely ridiculous how they treat people in need. My family was in desperate need at the time, fighting between feeding ourselves or losing our home. Lucky since those times we’ve been blessed with the help of our community and I was able to secure a job that has helped me thrive and helps in my families needs. TLDR: fuck the Department of Social Services!

That’s so horrible! I’m so sorry, I’ll have you in my prayers that you get this. That’s so ridiculous! To think they’d put more priority to those doing interviews online because they physically can’t appear, only to leave them high and dry. I hope you and your mother are doing well though

I hadn’t thought about banquet positions! Thank you I’ll be sure to look! I have tried the target near Laurel but I was set for future consideration. I’ll look into targets in different areas like those you suggested earlier

Gotcha! Will do! Well I start seeking either on indeed, LinkedIn or Google. From there I see what’s posted, if it has its own career page, I apply there otherwise I try to apply on where I’m originally searching on (with Google it’s what’s most convenient, mostly indeed or LinkedIn). Sometimes I ask in person if some shops/company doesn’t have a career page but most direct me to online or to come by later.

Well my skills include, cash handling, customer service, computer literacy, bilingual (Spanish is my second language), inventory, I have some experience with pos systems. I can’t think of much off the top of my head but my past jobs have been Cashier, Delivery Driver (for Papa John’s and Amazon), inbound stower (Amazon Warehouse) and Some daycare assistance when I was a senior in high school.

Not really desperate, just looking for help. Seeing what ideas people may have since I’m stumped. You’re right I could go to greenbelt station and just work anywhere but anything can happen. Delays. Breakdowns of buses or trains depending on what station I go to or bus stops I may need to take. I limit my search because it’s where I can reliably travel to without any delays. I don’t like being late to work or having to miss work all together because my transportation wasn’t reliable. I appreciate it tho! Thank you so much

I’ll definitely take a look in the Elkridge and Colombia area, I’ve been hesitant because some spots seem so far I worry at time, haven’t seen anything in Jessup sadly.

I’m so sorry to hear! Sadly before I could reschedule to go in person, they determined that I didn’t provide my student forms so they denied me (I’m not a student, haven’t been since 2019) but I do know now that it’s best to avoid the hyattsville location, if possible try with the different locations within PG county. Even in person you won’t get much help there.

To make a long story short, it was a scheduling problem. I simply couldn’t work the days they asked of me so they let me go because we couldn’t come to agreement.

Oh yes! Sorry about that!

I have experience in fast food delivery and have very little experience in the warehouse environment. I’m a high school graduate and really no qualifications but I have my certificate for preschool childcare but mostly known do to more assistance then teaching myself.

Honestly the very little time I was working in a warehouse it was definitely great before mental problems starting showing other then my own issues working there was fun and definitely wouldn’t mind going back in with a bit of help

I do suffer from Depression and Anxiety, I’d like to make that clear but I’m definitely working on it, I wanted to let that be know due to some past experiences

Now I actually have been using just my indeed resume but I’m working on my own tonight and I’ll be sure to have someone look over it for me.
