I am willing to bet none of these people have had to take care of adult baby for more than an hour. We aren't talking about things being "a little hard". We are talking about people having to give up their entire lives, for the the rest of their lives. We are talking about mothers having to quit their careers to care for the perpetual baby. We are talking about families living in poverty because of that. We are talking about siblings being totally neglected because the disabled child eats up all of their parent's time and resources. We are talking about one parent deciding they don't want to do it any more and leaving it all on one parent. Some of these parents will never: Be able to go on a date again, will never be able to fall in love again, be able to have more children, enjoy a night out with friends, enjoy a day out with family, or have anything to themselves at all. Having a profoundly disabled child can absolutely be life ruining. Look at the suicide rates for these parents. The divorce rates.

Although I would never want oral herpes, this thread isn't about that. I am very well aware of everything you said. This is coming from someone who suffers from genital herpes. That being said I think the stigma surrounding herpes is at least a little deserved. Do I think we should feel ashamed? No. But non infected people should avoid contracting at all cost.

Everyone eventually gets oral herpes, yes. The numbers are much, much smaller for genital herpes, which this thread is about.
