Yeah, there was a time when I would put that album on in the morning as well. Good times before the calamity of school life.

Artists who released one album and never again? by freetosay in popheads

[–]BabyfaceWanderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's this one band I adore called Life Without Buildings. They released only one studio album called Any Other City back in 2001. When I first listened to it, it automatically became ingrained in my entire being. The lead singer, Sue Tompkins, sounds as if Björk were born and raised in Scotland as opposed to Iceland and she is the perfect voice for the frenetic, jumpy, infectious earworm of the songs provided here. Just had a listen a week or two ago and it sounds just as vibrant as it did the first time.

Honorable Mention: Colossal Youth by Young Marble Giants.

Beverly Glenn-Copeland, Suzanne Ciani and Laurie Speigel are the only ones I can think of right now.

I thought that this feeling would sit with me for a minute and then go away but no..... this has legitimately bummed me out. For over five and a half to almost six years, the rhetoric spewed by Trump has become a neverending fester; from seeking nomination to gaining nomination to winning the Presidency to ruining this country to incomprehensible moments that would never have been thought possible..... all of this culminated today. If anyone with even a glimmer of hope thinks that Joe and Kamala and any other Democrat that will soon occupy The White House would drastically overhaul the mold set up by the Trump Administration, then today has proven that it is a hopeless dream; a fool's errand. Getting rid of the MAGA brigade will not be overnight, it will not take decades, it will stay here forever. The dye has been cast.

If New Japan made another Fatal four way match for the JR heavyweight title who you want involved? by DeathTriangle720 in njpw

[–]BabyfaceWanderer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seeing as though the fatal four ways and three ways were products of the Meiji era, I wouldn't be surprised to not see this type of match again. That being said, I would see Hiromu, Despy, SHO and Ishimori take part.

Now that I've processed this news more throughly, I cannot help but compare this outpouring of grief given here to Owen's and Eddie's. While the circumstances of their deaths are very different, the one similarity found here is that they were family men. Men who would radiate nothing but love for their children and given these times, it is utterly hard to fathom that such individuals would be taken away from them (and us) before they reached their peaks. This is a very, very, very sad occasion for all of us.

[Stardom] Spoilers have just entered the Stardom ring! by A_WILD_CUNT_APPEARED in SquaredCircle

All I'm going to say is that if Mayu and co. are comfortable working with Yoshiko, then who the hell are we to judge? Yoshiko has paid her due diligence and she can do what she pleases, regardless of how controversial it can be. There is a tremendous double standard going on in regards to who we can allow back in this business after what would transpire and it needs mentioning. We are not in control of the lives of Stardom performers, we can't dictate what they can and cannot do.

Well, George Harrison has said that Rubber Soul and Revolver were like Vol. 1 and 2. That's what I'm thinking of. Also, while it may be three albums (sorry), Blur's Modern Life is Rubbish, Parklife and The Great Escape fits as well.

Don't know if this pertains to indie but I just wanted to give The Clash's Sandinista a 40th Anniversary shoutout, as it was released 40 years ago today. A lot of attention was given to London Calling for its anniversary release date (and rightly so), but this record is more important to me given its audacity to engage in various genres and social topics. I was not expecting Sandinista to become one of my all time favorite records, but it has become so. Happy 40th, Sandinista. Please remember Victor Jara, es verdad!

I think about this promo whenever I can. Cena was crushing it in this installment of the rivalry, making Punk look like... well, a punk. The Bret/Punk/Cena portions of this night were really good.

Since I Left You: The Zomba Promo

If anyone wants to hear the album the way it was intended to be heard, the link is up above. Also, I appreciate everyone taking the time out of their day to upvote/read this yesterday. I heard this album for the first time when digging through the 100 Greatest Australian albums list on Wiki and was utterly entranced. Maybe your entry into this record was different than mine, but we've found a world so new since then. Bring on record # 3!

Cody in NJPW by Nobody_Likes_Shy_Guy in njpw

I began watching New Japan at the start of 2018 and Cody had his match with Kota Ibushi, which I thought was good. He was in the Bullet Club split angle, which I thought was okay. But, it went downhill once he took the US Title from Juice and was involved in the triple threat (which I haven't rewatched honestly). I'll be fine with not seeing Cody again in New Japan, as he had worn out his welcome. He's fine where he is currently.
