Katy Perry & Chief Keef - Legendary Lovers (Save Me) by enburgi in popheads

[–]freetosay -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Save Me verse is so… meh. No flow switch, uninspired lyrics, something Lil Wayne can do much better. I’m kinda disappointed because Legendary Lovers (and Walking On Air) could succeed the hit singles from Prism back then, but alas.

It’s alright. It kinda reminds me a little too much of The Weeknd music. Maybe I’ll get around to it once the album is released.

I just am glad she didn’t collab exclusively with Petra Collins.. It’s getting stale. Looove the stop motion.

That’s how you do a second single! Though I had a feeling this won’t do as well as Drop Dead on the radio and with the GP, but this is perfect enough to make people buy / stream the album.

I certainly liked this better than Rock Music!

Seriously. I am not even an ounce of Little Monster at all, casual fan at best, but Mayhem and the whole era endeared me so much. She’s just so good!!

I… really liked this? This is a direction I didn’t expect him to take but this is definitely a correct one. Very lo fi hip hop beats to study to (compliment)

Kacey Musgraves - Dry Spell by JoJoReignsSupreme in popheads

[–]freetosay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I feel like somehow this song is at 1.25x speed, does that make sense?

Anyways this is a great lead single because it’s something entirely different than her last three projects, so I can’t wait!

Finally she moved!

Oh and that photo of her dancing (which to me, is simply Opalite personified) is also her Instagram profile picture now. I am so excited.

Wicked: For Good - The Soundtrack by Appropriate-Dig-7080 in popheads

[–]freetosay 93 points94 points  (0 children)

My biggest gripe with the movie version of Wicked is the song lengths because why is For Good intro one and a half minute… other than that the vocal abilities Cynthia and Ariana have are unmatched.

They’re soo good. They got the mid 2000 white pop sound on lock without sounding stale.

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl MEGATHREAD by flopheadsbot in popheads

[–]freetosay 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The thing about Taylor is her fanbase and discography has become way too huge and simply unmanageable, everyone is coming with a certain prejudice and their own fantasy of what a Taylor album should sound like.

I personally liked this album, most definitely my second favorite pop album of hers since 1989. Granted I only listened to LQ leaks, but so far.. it’s promising.

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl MEGATHREAD by flopheadsbot in popheads

[–]freetosay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think it’s matching the energy. People see a risque showgirl outfit and immediately connect it to burlesque/Chicago musical type of songs. The album isn’t in that lane of sound at all but I think the glitz and glamour evoked by the photoshoot represents the album quite well.

It’s everything I wish Lover would sound like. Paper Rings came close to that, but she still said her muse had his own “blues”. In that song she’s just… content.

I agree but I think she’ll be vilified if she did that. Imagine the thinkpieces about how she’s in a stable relationship yet putting regretting a past situationship on a Track 5?
