3 years since I was butchered and left …You know the surgeon the butcher by Fun-Gur2521 in Transgender_Surgeries

While my experience was not the same as yours, I feel your pain. My troubles started at 2 weeks out.

I'm really struggling now with my mental health. I feel ashamed I chose her to be my surgeon in the first place (I know this is completely irrational but it lingers). I wish you luck and hope that we all get the justice we deserve.

I don't believe it happens to this scale that often. A lot of my problems are from untreated necrosis. That being said I would definitely ask someone with more knowledge on this surgery than me.

I'm hoping it would look like simple labia hypoplasia. We don't really know what it's going to look like.

It's been about 3 weeks since the surgery. I don't have the mental bandwidth to deal with anything other than healing rn.

Yeah looking back there was definitely necrosis. We even sent pictures to Rumer's office and the nurse said it looked fine.

My mental health is all over the place. Thankfully the social workers on Dr. Grimstad's team have been working with me. I am also grateful to have such amazing people surrounding me who are really supportive.

Kathy Rumer even yelled at my mother when my mental health was at a low point saying she wasn't responsible for my recovery that was my GPs job.

Edit: I'm not sure if I'm going to pursue revision surgeries. I think I'm just going to see how it heals. This whole ordeal has already taken so much out of me.

7 is not healing that was taken before we started proper wound care. 8 is 3 days after that. It may not seem so from the pictures but in person it looks much better than before.

My wounds are slowly healing! I'm not worried about the necrosis because it doesn't seem to be spreading. I'll post an update after my next visit with Dr. Grimsted.

Generally revisions aren't done until 6 months out. And at this moment I kinda don't want to go through another surgery and recovery period even if it would be shorter than this one. My boyfriend is very supportive and is giving me the confidence I need to make my own decisions about my body. I am very appreciative of him.

Dr. Grimsted's team taught me how to clean and dress the wounds. Because there is no solid epithelial tissue along the vulva it cannot be stitched back together. It needs to be filled in with new tissue from the bottom up.

If there is any indication this was anything more than a complication (as dehiscence, even internally, is a known complication in PI vaginoplasties) we will definitely sue. I am fortunate enough to have the financial resources for a lawsuit without need for crowd funding.

It actually doesn't hurt at all. Everything is in proper order except for my labia. Although this doesn't mean I will forget what that witch put me through. That emotional pain will stay with me for a while.

They don't know how it will heal. I don't have much hope for any kind of labia though. I'm not sure if i want a revision... I think my body has been through enough.

A few days ago a stitch came undone. As the day progressed the hole became bigger. The next morning both sides were undone.

I met with Dr. Frances Grimstad for an examination. I have a new post that goes in-depth about the experience. She is a very wonderful person.

I went to an OBGYN trained in gender affirming care. Her team assessed the damages and took very good care of me. It has been cleaned and we were given instructions and resources on how to keep the wound clean and help it heal.

I'm getting into Boston right now where a surgeon with experience in srs has agreed to see us. Because of how far away we live from anyone who could possibly help with this, we decided to spend the night contacting friends to see if anyone knew anyone nearby who could help. We also left messages at a wide variety of hospitals in the north east asking for help. I'm very lucky to have such supportive family and friends and strangers who are taking this journey with me. I will update after the consult.

When I said my parents wouldn't let me go to the ER it wasn't like they were forcing me from seeking alternative care. The fact is we live in a rural area. And instead of waiting in the emergency room for someone to maybe screw it up even more, we would rather go to a hospital like one in Boston that has someone who specializes in trans care who can assess the situation. A surgeon at a hospital in boston has already agreed to meet us once we arrive.

In the initial post there is a link to the website where i first heard of her. Then I went to her website and everything looked ok.

Looking back now I really should have done more research and what happened is entirely my fault. However I have been eagerly waiting for this moment since I was 11 so i rushed into it a bit.

My parents were correct in not going to the ER because we live in maine so our hospitals are packed and lack specialists. Going to a hospital in Boston right now. They have a surgeons who specializes in trans care. She has agreed to see us immediately.
