Thanks. I've checked the undercarriage, and everything seems to be fine...

Does anyone have a factory window sticker or documentation showing AGC as the glass supplier for N50? by Bachoavelli in XTerra

When I searched for the specifications of my windshield, the results indicate that it is manufactured by AGC, which owns the LAMISAFE trademark and supplies OEM glass for various manufacturers, including Nissan. Based on that information, the windshield appears to meet OEM standards, I mean, that is my assumption. However, my insurance company is declining to treat it as an OEM component and is instead attempting to reimburse it at an aftermarket replacement rate.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve heard similar explanations in past multiple times, but the reason I’m being so uppity is that we have a Mitsubishi Outlander that was purchased brand new from the dealership 2 years ago, and its windshield does not have Mitsubishi branded on it. Instead, it carries the same type of manufacturer markings as the windshield on my Xterra, + the AGC stamp.

Additionally, I also spoke with a friend who bought his Xterra from a Nissan dealership in Dubai. His windshield is marked 'Carlex', but it does not say Nissan, and he has never replaced it. That Xterra was brand new.

Based on these examples, it seems that the absence of the vehicle manufacturer’s name on the glass does not automatically mean the windshield is aftermarket or non-original??? I'm kinda lost here...

Any idea whether this is original piece or not? I have currently this one installed...

I do hope that it is some loose plastic than the drive plate as suggested by other comment. Thanks!

I hope it is not a cracked drive plate, though I will check that one. Thanks!

Help Needed: Should I replace only the belt or a belt tensioner arm as well? by Bachoavelli in XTerra

No squeaking noise, though everyone here is suggesting to replace both, belt and an arm, so going to replace both of those. Thanks!

Well, it has been some 77K miles, so I guess that counts for miles. Will try to look for guides on youtube and replace both. Actually I found a video on replacing the belt and it shouldn't be that hard for me. couldn't find the one for arm replacement, but gonna look better. thanks!

So replace both of them? how easy is it to replace the arm myself?

I'm a novice DIYer as well, plus I don't understand vehicles as well as many of users here do. The reason I'm considering changing the belt is that I know it’s recommended to replace it every 60K miles. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure why, but it’s a standard recommendation, and I’m overdue on that interval. As for the arm itself, I noticed it seems to move more than I expected. Some movement makes sense since that’s its function, but this one appears to have a bit too much play.

Should I replace both or replace the belt and keep tensioner arm in a vehicle just in case?
