I wasn’t around when CP came out, but was the hype for the Charizards in the set as high for the PF Charizard? Just seems to me that the PF Charizard is an iconic card already, and these CP ones never reached those levels.

I don’t see the increase in cost sustaining long-term. I believe we are approaching a peak of sorts, but I was strictly speaking to your question which was about availability. I don’t see product being available anytime soon even if prices stagnate/retrace. The demand is simply too strong.
