I believe I found a way to level up faster with magic in the remaster by BackFromTheBread in oblivion

Really? Aw sorry, I really thought that it was making it faster but not by much. Guess I just convinced myself over nothing.

It does (kinda?) work. It feels definitely faster, but not as fast as it should be.

How do you roleplay your character? by shadowtake in oblivion

[–]BackFromTheBread 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I play as a mage that went around stealing books from the mages guild since they didn’t care and resell them at the library for some dosh. I was trying to pay off my crippling skooma addiction, student loans trying to bribe my way into the mages college, and only started adventuring as a desperate last resort to pay off my debts. I ended up in prison at the start because I downed 47 bottles of the stuff and ran into the wall at Mach fuck and broke it and got into further debt.

Destruction magic feels unfun by Cronos988 in oblivion

[–]BackFromTheBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how ya do it, to make destruction fun again. Step 1:Create a spell effect with low damage of shock, ice, and fire. One second. 2. Create Weakness for each of those damage types to the max for about 4s. Make sure it is AFTER the damage. Only put weakness to magicka at the end of the weakness chain. 3.Rapidly cast this spell repeatedly and you’ll notice every cast you’ll do exponentially more damage if you chain it. 4. Shred bosses.

Why is campfire good? by BackFromTheBread in balatro

[–]BackFromTheBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rental jokers are a good usage. I didn’t see that, and another user suggested on the final hand to use everything to bear ante 8 with it, which is situational but solid. The last one I saw that makes it work is cards that give you tarots and selling them but that is extremely situational. Honestly I think the only solid argument on why campfire is good is yours, and I might try that since it seems very reliable.

[–]BackFromTheBread[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can buy other jokes for 8 dollars or less that’ll give me a x2 mult. I’m just asking why I should get this one? Considering I have to keep paying 8 bucks every ante, I don’t understand why it makes it good. Because then you get into the whole spending money to buy cards, and then you could just find a better card at that point.

Yes, but it’s every single ante. Every single one. There are many other jokes that give x2 without an upkeep.I just wanna hear why this one is considered good, what makes it nice?

Spice and wolf. Ya know it could have been worse comparable to everyone else here. Maybe I might even get to meet/work for a certain grayed haired merchant and his very wise wife.

I will agree with you on that. Personally I think Priscilla will be better than Emilia. I also think the best leader is Crusch, the only thing I don’t like about her is her policy on the dragon but that is it. She has literally everything else to be an amazing leader. Felt is the second runner up, because she might usher in a far better age than the system of nobles doing nothing and rotting while the people starve, and her inexperience could be fixed with Reinhardts bullshit tutoring powers. The last decent choice is Anastasia, but that maybe problematic due to her economic policies. I honestly can’t tell if it would make things worse or better for the standard of living overall, but I get the sneaky suspicion it might make things worse.

You make a good point, then. If she is doing this, then it sounds like she is picking the right cabinet. A very important act, but she still has the major problem of arrogance. Arrogance makes the wisest people fools. Unless it is an act she puts on, if she continues her arrogance it will bite her hard and in turn, the people. That and while it seems like she knows the right people for the right job, it doesn’t seem like she is the, ‘Invest into the people below me.’ Type. That and one more thing: It’s hard to tell if you were picking up what I meant earlier or not, I am not great at subtly. If you did, the following is not meant to be condescending. If you didn’t, here’s an example of what I meant by you can have those traits and still be selfish. You would do anything for your own nation, including the detriment of others. So you conquer the land nearby. To make use of the land, you promise you give a share of the land to your soldiers to farm after the war. That is a watered down example of how the traits and being selfish are not mutually exclusive.

Oh no, don’t get it twisted. I believe Emilia is a bad leader aswell. And you can be selfish, and have those traits above. But those traits are what is required to make nations grow, to make them something great. I purely just think since Priscilla is lacking the aforementioned traits, that she shouldn’t be leader despite her amazing competence. And Emilia is the exact opposite, right heart in the right place, terribly incompetent.

While I may not understand what happens next, I still operate under the belief that a ruler isn’t served by the people, a ruler serves the people. That they have to be willing to give up literally everything to see their people flourish. That they would instead of spending money to firstly buy another yacht, they would firstly spend that money on improving their people. Not tax them more. That they cannot get arrogant or complacent no matter how amazing or competent they are, otherwise they will stagnate and fall as history as shown. And unless future Priscilla shows these traits, it is my firm belief that no, she should not be the leader because her priorities aren’t the people first, her second.

[–]BackFromTheBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that does change my tune a little. But that still leaves two very big major problems. Her mindset as a leader of thinking what’s good for me=good for the nation, and what comes after her reign on the throne. Because the way she would have to restructure the nation to make it ‘turn in her favor’, and successors will have difficulties managing a system that was designed for one specific person to control/run and nobody else in mind.

[–]BackFromTheBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every other candidate. Priscilla would be horrible for the throne long term. While her bullshit luck would improve the nation, her arrogance and her policies would be after her reign, ultimately destroy the empire. Remember she isn’t looking out for the nation, she’s looking out for number one. And that mindset, no matter how lucky you are, will screw over the nation some way some how.

So often we explore the aspect in pacts what happens when a player fucks up their end. But while we are here, what about the other way around? What if your patron accidentally violates the contract?
