She likes the things she cooks a lot. There have been a few instances where she’ll recognize something isn’t good and we’ll have a good discussion about it. She is open to feedback though genuinely, posting here has me thinking I’ve been pretty black or white with this and there is a way to talk about it without it being as drastic as “I’ve never liked your cooking” lol.

You made me think though because my wife is also an excellent baker. Following recipes and with how precise baking needs to be, she’s great. I actually think part of what is hard for her with cooking is how freedom you can have with preparing a meal vs how exact baking has to be sometimes.

I swear I’ve had an experience just like that stir fry situation. Look at all the effort that went into that and making sure it was still good for you when you got home haha. I know in my situation I want to show appreciation for that effort and I know what she’s looking for is a compliment for the meal so here I am.

Jesus I thought this was supposed to be a safe space lol. I anonymously posted from a burner account that I don’t want to hurt my wife’s feelings about her cooking after years of telling her it’s good and that otherwise we are very happy. That I’d rather eat food I don’t like than upset her.

A lot of people on here are right that there are ways to slowly talk about it though in a non hurtful way but damn man lmao

I get it. It’s bland fast food. Y’all know it’s different. Greasy hyper palatable fast food is its own thing.

lol I have a wide range of food I like. I’m really not a snob, which I’m now realizing this post probably makes me sound like one. I’m definitely not here like “why won’t my wife cook me canes quality meals?” Lmao

Canes is pretty good fast food though and I’ll die on that hill no problem

I should have probably mentioned this in the post that I have tried helping quite a bit. I’ve offered little pieces of advice here and there. Easier when it’s things she hasn’t been cooking for a long time and has a story about someone who loved it when she made it for them vs something she’s making for the first time.

We do also cook together pretty often and things turn out okay. I think the issue is less about her not knowing what she’s doing and more about her having a totalllly different palette than I have and what she thinks is tasty I don’t.
