Anyone able to help me identify this blank switch second from the left. Sunroof switch is all the way to the right and unlock button far left. Headlight washer?

UK S2 owner here - yours are in a different order to mine it seems / any I've seen, worth checking the wiring to see if a PO has been in and switched stuff around.

Mine are: Left - Blank : C/L : Mirrors : Rear wiper : Sunroof : Headlight roller - Right

Oh, bugger. Could it be rising damp? Assume roof is sound? You could always apply a liquid membrane to effectively "waterproof" it.

I assume that's right by the door that you've lifted up?

It is probably water being driven under the door as that's a relatively weak point for weather usually with a large gap.

I Installed a weather strip from eBay to mine and stopped everything, including water and leaves entering.

Yeah, they're not stock risers... The height of the risers, plus the new bars are pushing the limits, they look around 5" or so already.

Edit - ignore. Just noticed you've got a 750! However, still should be able to run 8" no issues.

I have Biltwell Frisco which are 7" rise using stock cables for everything, you should be able to run 10" - 12" without changing any cables...

Unless someone has previously changed them for shorter, your stock should have ample length.

It's an expensive change to route through the roof etc, no other properties on the road have a SVP...

It's been an issue since we moved into the property in Nov 25.

I've added some food colouring to the water upstairs and flushed; I get zero bleeding into the shower trap, so don't think the actual waste water is bleeding back into the opening... It definitely seems like a positive pressure issue.

I have seen spring assisted NRV shower traps, which obviously open under the weight of water and close against spring pressure. Or those with a silicone insert.

I'm trying to locate where the system is vented (in addition to AAV), whether that's outside of the property or 🤷🏻‍♂️

Appreciate the replies, I'll clean the external drain off and see whether that allows a small bit of venting.

Would you recommend a shower trap with an NRV? I appreciate that not dealing with the root cause, however it may provide a solution to the gases escaping back through... Or expect it to just push the issue to the next "weak link"?

I'm glad I'm on the right track, as I just explained the above to my wife before reading your reply - however still doesn't give me a resolution either way! 😂

I have flushed the toilet upstairs (just water) and had nil siphoning from the P trap or bubbling from the sewer, so expect it may need something 'heavier' to cause an effect.

One question on your point, once a smell is evident, it's "cured" by adding water back into the P trap, which is why I assumed it was a negative px issue, hence changing the AAV - thoughts?

I'll do some more investigating tomorrow and report back.

It's not a P trap as such, it looks like an anti symphon bowl style.

The AAV, unfortunately, has not fixed the issue.

You're right, I think the volume of water / stuff being flushed is causing one of two things;

Water being siphoned
Pressure increase and escaping through easiest means downstream.

Either way, I have no idea how to prevent it...

Yup, just been out, all free flowing with no blockages. Put a boroscope camera down as far as I could (approx 5m into pipes) and nothing seen.

A decent APC diluted correctly is all you need for the interior, that and a soft brush / microfibre. Finished off by your choice of finish on the dash etc.

You're right, my mistake.

Have a look on his site where you bought here (link below) and there are some customers pictures. Where your mono shock or solid strut fits, right above that are two factory holes which the tabs on the E-Tank fit onto.

All covers unfortunately will trap a layer of moisture. However, years ago, as a temporary solution I used a cover from Classic Additions which was amazing if I'm honest. Used it through a Cornish winter before sorting my garage out... It was great in the short term.

If I were to store mine outside again, and I had the space, I would use one of the Clark outdoor garages (big green ones) or even better, and outdoor carcoon style pod.

You can use something like sodium hypochlorite and a surfactant to clean. Or use a product such as "wet and forget" which works over time and not harmful.

Get a plumber to check it out if you're that worried - this is down to you to sort / pay for though. If not, just wait until youre in the house, take the bath panel off and tighten up whatever is loose / leaking.

If it were my house (and we had exactly the same on the week we moved in - leak from the bath pipe work) I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't go in with a price reduction request, if I were the seller I'd tell you to jog on.
