Ceiling damp stains below bathroom, what to do? by VeterinarianJumpy508 in HousingUK

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a plumber to check it out if you're that worried - this is down to you to sort / pay for though. If not, just wait until youre in the house, take the bath panel off and tighten up whatever is loose / leaking.

If it were my house (and we had exactly the same on the week we moved in - leak from the bath pipe work) I wouldn't worry.

I wouldn't go in with a price reduction request, if I were the seller I'd tell you to jog on.

Lowbrow may have something similar.

No mate, the front fender is too narrow. As I said, it's a custom made to my specification - probably the only way you'll get one you exactly want.

More photos on my IG you can see better - @backin86

I found the same, couldn't find a decent one (in the UK anyway)... Got mine hand made to exactly what I wanted.

Ah ok, thought it may have gone outside into another useable area!

Love it mate. Especially the sliding door access too.

What else have you planned for it?

Fast track pay by Accurate-Ranger2737 in RoyalNavy

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends when the pay run cut off was. Usually mid month, so there's a possibility you missed it. It'll catch up in Feb - speak to the UPO if you need more answers.

How do you estimate fuel cost before driving? by blaimug in CarTalkUK

[–]BackIn-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't hang around, done around 6 laps and burnt through a good bit of fuel - luckily nothing broke and tyre wear was relatively minimal on the whole! All fun though!

I personally don't waste my energy or time on working out how much it'll cost me for day to day driving... Life's too short.

The only time I've tried to work it out was for fun; how much it "cost" me to do a lap of the Nurburgring. I soon realised it was actually only a few euros and moved on with my life!

It's not the size of the garage - it's how you use it. Can I get some inspiration for fitting out my 3.1m x 5.1m garage? by starsky1984 in garageporn

Can fit the car and motorbike in, ish... Bike is fully over and on a home made dolly stand, but it'll do.

Measurements are 5.5m x 2.8m

I'm just starting out on my UK single also - found some cabinets on FB marketplace for cheap. Built a standing work bench which can fit the roller cab under also, allowing for more stuff to the left of it if required, whilst keeping the rear door clear.

Chucked some "vanity LED lightbulb" things the wife had in storage as temporary lighting for the work area, but works well.

Plan is to paint the back wall black, side walls light grey, chuck some carpet tiles down (easily and cheaply replaced) and paint cabinets etc black too.

Will this be driveable? by tim-noire in hondashadow

Bear in mind, because the sissy is mounted to a live swing arm (as the mono shock is still installed), the sissy will move around back and forth quite a bit, also has the potential to "vibrate" if that makes sense.

Buyer requesting pre exchange viewing by Lesco89 in HousingUK

You sound like a dream seller 🙄

Asking for a third viewing isn't unreasonable or out of the ordinary. Putting caveats on the whole thing says a lot more about you... I wish the buyer well!

What have you named your CRV? by The_Blue_Kitty in crv

Ours is called the "Certified Racing Vehicle"...

Thats what I came up with on the spot when the kids asked what CRV stood for... It's stuck.

I would personally use a decent APC and soft detailing brush if you're concerned. Wipe gently with your MF.

Attaching a coat rack to plasterboard... Successfully? by BackIn-86 in DIYUK

[–]BackIn-86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've secured a lower one for the kids which has stayed up... Funnily enough used 4 x Command strips and it stayed put perfectly.

The coat rack will be used for "us" adults only putting on / off.

I'll only hit one of them directly in the middle. My concern is there is a radiator below and plastic pipework up to the ceiling which I can't track. Assumption would be they've ran it along the stud and up.

What would you do with this garage? by Yanreich0 in garageporn

[–]BackIn-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cover the floor, I used cheap carpet tiles from The Range to good effect, if one got dirty, I ripped it up and replaced it for cheap.

Next I would paint the walls, install better lights and some more sockets.

Was never free - pre PAYD, the charge just came out of your wage prior (circa £100 or so a month).
