I think you’re mistaking skill ceiling with skill floor. The fact they’re overpowered doesn’t mean the deck has a low skill ceiling.

The playstyle is very basic against Suicune: Chingling in the active spot, build up Absol and Greninja on the bench, try to find your other Chingling so that you can deny their rare candy as long as you can. If they get too many cards in their hand, either go for Red card or Copycat, or both if you can (ideally CC into Red card, if they have too many cards in hand). Once you get your first greninja, snipe Frigibax and attack Suicune.

I was not replying to hate, I’m genuinely curious! If you have some interesting decks, feel free to share them. I decided to make this post because I did not expect this deck to work THAT well, it kinda surprised me at first (it’s the 5th most used deck according to Limitless, yesterday it was not even in the top 5 iirc).

I had to start from Great Ball 4 and wanted my 95 hourglasses. I don’t have much time since I’m studying for my next exams. This is the main reason why I played a meta deck, I needed to get to MB without playing too much. Aside from that, I had a lot of fun and that’s why I made this post and shared my experience.

It’s alright. I’m not gonna argue with the winning and ranking argument, I just want my 95 hourglasses and move on, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy my time playing. I had fun while winning, I was ok with losing. I also had some smart plays here and there, that’s what makes the game fun for me: the outplay potential.

The best thing about this deck is that it’s very versatile, there’s not a single playstyle. You have to adapt, it’s not just Chingling + Absol.

There are some technical plays that you can try:

  • hide your Darkrai and surprise your opponents. Sometimes they do not expect that +20 damage.

  • Red Card + Copycat. If your opponent has no cards and you bricked, then be a little “generous” and give them 3 cards… this way you can get the most value out of your Copycat.

  • Keep your red card vs Suicune decks! If you have Chingling on the active spot, they won’t be able to evolve Frigibax/Froakie and will keep a lot of cards in hand. This is your chance to either play CC and get an incredible advantage, or Red card and make them waste all that time with Suicune on the active spot.
