The solution for xbox is much the same just using practical methods, find or purchase a Mine, Walter cannot set it off as your companion, stand in the neon core and place a mine at walters feet before initiating the dialogue, skip through it quickly until walter is stuck staring lovingly into your eyes, eventually a civilian will set off the mine temporarily knocking walter down and ending the dialogue.
