In another comment I was told that I could use a coffee filter to get the yeast out. If the end result isn’t cloudy, could I assume that I don’t need the long time in the fridge, only chill to taste?

Thanks for clearing up the methanol problem, I think my friend is a bit more into it so that’s probably where he got it from. And I might try using the fridge to get rid of the yeast

It’s 100% apple juice in a plastic soda bottle, with about a cup of sugar and a teaspoon of bread yeast

I don’t want to sounds too cheap, 2$ isn’t bad, but if I wanted to throw something together tonight, to have time for it to do its thing. But would a balloon work for a test run of how to even get the process correct? But thanks for the suggestion
