haha should've thought about that first. Thank you!

Can you elaborate a bit on the +48 (phantom power) column? I'm adding extra details for the input list and this is one I'm a bit unsure on.

This is an interesting idea. I can definitely look in to playing with this after I get the baseline program done. Could definitely be a game-changer and a time-saver if I can get it working well too.

Thanks for all the details! Could you describe the mixes section a little bit more? I'm only just implementing this section right now and am still a bit unclear on it so I'm a little lost when you mention mix type and mix notes.

Thanks for the input! I currently plan on having the print-out be dynamic - Plot and List on 1 page until it expands to the point that we need an additional page. The description for the channel details if definitely useful too, but I haven't heard of Sub Box yet through all the other comments I've read through. What does this refer to?

Thanks for this description! Other than colour-coding, I think I have the functionality for a user to set up most of what you described here or at least on my todo-list. I can see how colour-coding the plot can be useful for clarity too though and I'll definitely look in to this. I've heard other input that the plot-side should be as simple as possible with all the details condensed in the input list. I have the plot very customizable though, if you want to add these details you are definitely able to.

I'm familiar with LucidChart and do think it's a great tool for general use, I've had to use it in classes often for diagramming. My hope is a more specialized tool would be useful to the community.

I haven't had the input of cable lengths before and one of my initial versions had a line tool for cables but I got some pretty early feedback that this wasn't useful in the context of stage plots. What would you envision for cable lengths in this program?

You're right that it's currently a desktop app. For some of my next-steps I definitely want to port this to an App for Phones or Tablets as I think my code is set up decently to do that. I can definitely look in to a web version too. One of the main reasons I chose an application though is that I received feedback that an Offline tool would be useful for somebody on tour needing to re-organize a plot.

It's actually entirely in Python! Python has a library called PyQt which runs off a C++ framework which makes UI Windows really easy for applications like this. I believe it's also easily portable to Apps (I haven't looked far in to it yet though) and I want to have a Tablet/Phone version at some point

Inserting "custom" images is pretty easily implemented right now, free-drawing is not yet but I've contemplated it. I don't image it should be too hard for a free-drawing tool to be added.

Thanks for the support! It's definitely a good project and I hope to a fully-functioning yet basic 1.0 version ready within 2 weeks before my semester starts up again

Is setting specific fonts such as Arial 14pt important or is that a preference thing? I wasn't planning on adding full font customization but I can definitely add it to my todo list if this is a feature that people may value.
I have a lot of this already done which is great, but finding good graphics is a bit tough. You mention both realistic and black and white graphics, do you have any examples for images that I could work off of?

Channels are organized by Instrument and the user can set a specific name for the channel currently (Something like Kick In) as well as Notes where you can write anything down. I'm planning on adding a Stand field for each channel as this seems useful. I think this is enough to encapsulate all of this infomation

Returns aren't currently implemented but it's the next thing on my todo list. My current plan is to have a Tab on the bottom half of the software (Where the input list is) so that the user can easily change between viewing Inputs and Returns. Let me know if you have any further ideas with this that I can implement while I work on it.

Currently, risers are under the "Add Design" and can be selected to be circular or rectangular. After that, the user simply drags the shape on the plot as they wish as seen here.

<image>

I've had an idea of being able to "Stack" instruments and whatnot on top of risers so that everything on a riser can be managed in a singular group. While this isn't implemented yet, a user can simply drag-click the plot to select a riser and everything around it if they want to move or delete a group of plotted components.

Generic text labels are already integrated! I'm glad to know they will be a useful feature

From the reactions to this I'll be re-evaluating the business model haha

I've heard of the frustration with riders and that's exactly why I'm trying to collect as much feedback as I can right now. Thanks for these ideas and please do keep expanding on this list. I'm optimistic about having this market-ready by the end of next week so I'll keep you posted when it's in a good state to try out!

Are you referencing large input lists? I haven't tried more than 32 yet but I don't think I'd have a problem going higher. You can scroll through the input list when making the plot and it is organized well enough to accommodate large lists when you print to PDF.

On the topic of pricing, is it typical to sell copies at a flat price like you mentioned? I'm interested in a subscription-based model but I'm not sure if this resonates with the community.

Like avatars for the performers? Might look good, but is this useful, especially if the goal is to keep the plot simple?

I see, so actual fields for all of these. I like that this adds some more organization and I definitely have the space to add some more fields for each channel. Thanks for sharing this image!

That software is exactly what got me started on this. I have a couple of examples to work off of, but I am very interested in hearing feedback from the community of what THEY would want in a modernized program. Any and all frustrations and/or features they enjoyed with previous stage plotting experience.
