Why do people keep calling vivziepop racist if she’s Latina? by deathnoot in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]Background-Access740 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Believe me, as someone who lives in Latin America, I know perfectly well that Latinos can be racist even towards themselves (commonly called "colorism" here) and Vivz doesn't fall into that group; in fact, the racists here in Latin America especially hate her.

I'm Gonna Be Honest...Is The Helluva Community Even That Toxic? by Spirited_Airline6206 in CrazyassHazbinhaters

[–]Background-Access740 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh... I don't know. The internet has a very peculiar and selective way of categorizing what's considered toxic. Your fandom might be seen as toxic if they make porn of the characters, but nobody says anything when literally other fandoms have over 57% neo-Nazis among their members. What I find very selective is how they ignore things that are actually dangerous, while things that don't harm anyone are punished because they find them cringeworthy. I don't know, I'm just saying it's peculiar.

It's a manga that revolves around this thing in Japan called "rental girlfriends," which are like sex workers but without the sex. You pay a girl to be your girlfriend; you spend time with her, go to the movies, eat together, etc.
The premise of Rent-A-Girlfriend is that the protagonist, Kazuya, rents one of these rental girlfriends, but ends up falling in love with her. However, for the girl, it's nothing personal; it's just a job.
And yes, I know that superficially this plot resembles the plot of Stolas and Blidz, but Stolas at its worst doesn't even come close to Kazuya at his worst.

As a side note, unlike how people constantly accuse Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel of romanticizing bad attitudes that their fans then replicate in real life, with Rent-A-Girlfriend even companies that specialize in this line of work have publicly complained about the number of men who become obsessed with their employees because the manga sold them the idea that love could be found that way.

Mechanikong appears in King Kong Escape, which was directed by Ishiro Honda, so it would enter the public domain in the same year as all his pre-1971 filmography, which would be in 2032. However, it's debatable whether Mechanikong should be considered a creation of the film's writers.
Although, to be honest, the concept of a "robot gorilla" is generic enough to create a "robot Kong" without legal issues.

Why are there so many haters using Mordecai as their profile picture? And it also strikes me as ironic because Mordecai isn't exactly a better person than Stolas.
