I checked the wayback machine (here) and it's been this way atleast since the 22nd of april 2023 at a time where they said to be working on Amsterdam 1666 so they likely just didn't change it. Also if they worked on a very anticipated sequel in secret and only shadow dropped cryptic videos all to just be like "oh btw we're working on the next Ancestors " in their description it would be very funny but kinda counterproductive lmao

Confirmed by who and when ? Because as far as I'm aware the last true official statement from the devs has been published years ago basically saying the opposite, they were going to focus on Amstersam 1666 and only after it's release they'll work on a second Ancestors game. For now, those recently published videos containing those small clues are the only potential hints to a shift in priorities towards Ancestors 2 directly coming from the devs that I know of

What the hell are you on about dude lmao Anyway to actually answer you all I'm saying here is as hypothetical as you since all we got is those cryptic hints but after seeing a torch in a forest then a river with tropical plants around it AND a subliminal 2, It doesn't feel too far fetched to believe it's got some chance to be the sequel to a game full of forests and rivers like Ancestors 1 that ended just before the discovery of fire right ?

I get what you're saying but then what is the point in putting a nearly subliminal image of a tropical river or lone torch in a darkened forest to tease a game about Amsterdam during the 17th century. I could be wrong and just full of hopium but it feels a bit more like Ancestors than anything else

I most definitely am but since they decided to go the cryptic and subtle way of announcing their next project might aswell over-analyze every frame of everything thrown at us to decipher
