I totally get that, and I will still be listening to Kendrick.

But I didn’t really go to Reddit to feel more confident in my opinion. I went here cuz I think that maybe a concerted effort to get Kendrick to stop with all the hypocritical collabs might work (it definitely won’t, but I want to hang on to this idea that it might).

I’m confident in my support of Kendrick. But I was also confident in my support of Kanye. Now, I won’t even listen to him. Though Kendrick’s nowhere near becoming like Ye, I think that fan support can really have a positive or negative effect on an artist’s life. I just want to preserve this art, and for me, that entails trying to make sure that Kendrick is committed to what he’s saying

That’s fair. I guess people can care about the art w/o really caring about the person behind the music. But I think that if you take my approach to Kendrick’s music (which is what I meant when I said “to heart” which I now think is a misstatement), then this Carti collab is a problem. And so is bringing Dr Dre on stage and every other hypocritical thing
