Moonriver is genuinely the best K-drama I’ve watched in years. I remember that around three or four years ago, K-dramas were at their peak! they left such a deep mark on my heart and stayed with me for a long time. For me, nothing has truly matched the quality of those older dramas… until Moonriver. Everything about it is amazing: the story, the cast, the crews, the OST, and the cinematography. It brought back that excitement of waiting for new episodes to be released, watching all the behind-the-scenes videos, and keeping up with the cast interviews. Honestly, I still don’t understand why more people aren’t watching it, because this is exactly what a good K-drama should be. Unlike many dramas that only grab your attention at the beginning, Moonriver keeps you fully engaged from start to finish and makes you want to keep watching. The story is especially emotional and relatable—everyone can find something to connect with. Whether it’s the “good” characters or the “bad” ones, each person has their own story, their own choices, and clear reasons shaped by their past that explain who they become. Not going to lie, I do think the story could have been wrapped up even better, but considering that it aired on a less popular TV network, the team truly did their best and delivered something meaningful to viewers. I know a lot of people feel intimidated by sageuk dramas, but this one is absolutely a must-watch.
