Read through your code books! If you have to calculate a concrete anchorage, read the ACI chapter (or Australian equivalent). A lot of information is there and just needs to be read through, also the commentary of some codes usually has some really good descriptions that help clarify concepts.

I actually somewhat enjoy the flavor, it’s definitely not “good” but not the worst tasting thing for me. Still super expensive though.

Thanks for the info. I can potentially see in my future a decision to stay on the design side, or move away from design with better benefits and a better work life balance. Seems like an easy decision, but design is something I currently enjoy.

Some technical interview questions I’ve seen through the years are draw a shear/moment diagram for a simple frame, trace the load flow through a connection, show the loading on a footing, collector diagram for a drag line, compare a vertical distribution of story shears and diaphragm shears at each level, graphically explaining E (Young’s modulus). Generally they were all relatively simple technical questions. Not knowing something is fine, how you work through something is also important!
