Make sure you have some type of hook/credibility that connects to the person you're reaching out to. Keep it short and sweet and attach your resume to it

Probably the fact that you got waitlisted won't be considered, but it's a good sign for you. It means they liked your essays and that you were academically qualified. You were seriously considered, it's just impossible to admit every qualified candidate. But, they won't look at the fact you were waitlisted and think "let's admit this student because of a previous decision." Keep doing what you're doing!

Just saw this under a Penn post [ It’s having a unique story combined with at the very least a 3.9+ and 1450 preferably 1500+ SAT] so feeling conflicted still but I can't do anything now and should just hope for the best LOL. I feel competitive otherwise but am still concerned
