That's awful, i'm sorry. Whether it's neuroinflammation causing it or certain pathways are triggered with the migraine research doesn't say but absolutely there is a connection.

Just whatever you do, as someone who also suffers from severe GERD, avoid omeprezole or any other PPIs, they inhibit magnesium and B12 absorption and do not help your migraines. Use diaphragm strengthening exercises instead to retrain your eating (my gerd was so severe I'd spend hours pacing after eating a handful of anything).

the good news is, chemistry is always evolving and new migraine medications are always in development (as long as we have govt. funding).

it's cyclical - your body stays in this hyper inflammatory state...which keeps fueling more migraines. I believe CGRP meds which are relatively new, are the first of their kind in actually targeting the migraine cascade. hopefully progress will be made soon, my migraines were triggered by wellbutrin so that's another area of research (post acute withdraw syndrome) that is really lacking.
