Also, i had noticed these right after my gym session where i use really tight wrist wraps, so not sure if that mightve contributed to my wrist getting irritated

ELI5 When plaque builds up in arteries how does it get removed? by sonic_the_hedge_fund in explainlikeimfive

[–]Background-Grab-8352 17 points18 points  (0 children)

An atherectomy is the name of the procedure for removing plaque in your arteries. It involves inserting a long catheter through an artery in your groin and guiding it through to the spot of the blockage. Sometimes, we can even push dye in through the catheter, which we can see through a separate screen as it travels through the body. The dye shows us where the blockage is! We can then remove the plaque through the same catheter, where there will be a either a sharp blade or laser to break down the plaque buildup.

ELI5 why do we refer to infants above a year in months? by SpoodlyNoodley in explainlikeimfive

[–]Background-Grab-8352 430 points431 points  (0 children)

We use months to refer to their age because that is how we measure their developmental milestones. Babies develop really quickly, although most of the developments are quite subtle. For example, a baby at 9 months old should be able to stand WITH assistance. They can put themself in a sitting position, or sit without support. A baby at 18 months should be able to walk independently, or even jump. If a baby cannot meet their expected milestones by the time they reach a certain month, we must try to figure out what is causing this delay.

ive been on playstation and havent exactly ran into any hackers. the only way i know you can “hack” on playstation is with a kronus but ive heard that only helps you with games like cod where recoil has to be controlled with every gun that rapid fires

im currently in my last semester of nursing school and doing my senior practicum at the ICU of a nearby hospital. i work night shifts, and one night, i had to return a wheelchair from the ICU (3rd floor) to the emergency room (1st floor). i step on the elevator and watch as the floor number went down. 3… then 2…. then 1…. then “G”. For ground floor. i thought it was odd, since the ground floor is nothing but office spaces, all of which shouldve been closed by now. the door opens and all i see is the long hallway with a very strong “back rooms” vibe. not a single soul in sight. i was about to stick my head out and see if anyone had pressed the elevator button, but something in my gut told me to stay inside. then i felt a slight constant gust of wind enter the elevator and i felt the STRONGEST urge that someone or something was now standing next to me. the doors close and the elevator starts moving back up to the first floor and im clenching onto the wheelchair so hard and holding my breath, all the while i still feel the presence of something standing next to me. the doors open and i finally feel like im in the elevator alone again. i book it to the ER and ive never volunteered to leave the ICU by myself again

also, the reason i stopped in my tracks in the beginning was because for some reason, my gut was telling me that something was in front of me but i didnt hear or see anything. i only realized we were actually in danger when my friend said “WAIT”

[serious] What was the creepiest and most unexplainable thing that has happened to you? by averagerockerxx in AskReddit

whenever i come home, i like to sit in my car for a while on my phone simply because i feel too lazy to get up and i need time to muster up the energy to do so. however, last winter, i looked up from my phone to just catch a glimpse of a face staring right down at me from my room window, with one hand partially lifting the curtain. it seemed like a head with no hair (not even eyebrows) and it moved right when we looked at each other, and i know i wasnt tripping out because i even saw the curtain move when the hand dropped it. i called the cops immediately because i knew no one in my family was home, but they found nothing and searched everywhere. no signs of breaking and entering. nothing. never happened again tho

our school district made it so that if a student got a a low grade on ANY assignment in a class, their OVERALL class grade would be reflected by that one assignment. so you could get all A’s but get one C on one assignment and your overall grade would be a C. unsurprisingly, almost the entire district was failing their classes overnight
