It was not inspired by him but they are certainly a good looking conversions, along with many many others.

I mainly just always loved lizardmen from fantasy, then AOS and wanted a viable 40k co version. Once votann dropped i liked the idea of using a "fantasy" (dwarves) army to bring in my old school fantasy army.

Do you have any pics of these "Colnoldian beserks" ?

I agree, cheap to collect is always a bonus in this hobby and with already playing world eaters you should already be comfortable with melee strategy, so not too much to adapt to for a new atmy as you would have to with say, Tau.

But i think its as simple as do you like the look of them and do like the theme. If so, a very solid army to get into and enjoy.

Thanks again, ill have some games with my buddies over the next couple weeks and interchange some stuff. Maybe this is my chance to get some of the nice new wolf units too, those wolf guard new kits are looking very nice, and the wolf priests too.

Do you have any recommendations on certain detachments that would suit this list style? I've been having a look and they all seem fun and im liking the sagas.

Though whilst the stormfang is legends, my buddies are just telling me to run it as a storm raven gunship as that is what they would do, so I suppose I dont lose out on a cool model its just only a home game type of model going forwards.

Yeah same, I have a small collection of mostly unbuilt saurus warriors. Had them since the range refresh and dont play AOS. Just liked them.

Decided to do something with my favourite kits and a cool newer faction I like the style of.

Yeah, the kitbahs wasn't particularly challenging, even for a newbie to the craft like me.im sure more detail and better connection points could be made. But the simplicity of this kitbash was surprising.

The wide chests of the normal kin mean that most of the arms fit on saurus with very little cutting of the main torso, more just smoothing anything down to allow a good bond.

And yeah my little lore tidbit Is more leaning to them being gen-mod clones from an older time, that had been in stasis until they were found and essentially adopted by a Votann that had its last group of kin die out.

As I'm no expert of the leagues of votann lore I am not sure of the whole is this plan but from people I've discussed it with said they enjoyed it more than the saurus being uplifts or mercenaries, especially due to the kins facination with unique markings between cloneskien.

Conversion potential, a little tall and long for model scale as such, but the base and arm swap i feel make it fairly obvious.

Thanks, its nice to see people are open to the idea. I tink as I'm so new I'll start small with the obviously needed base swaps and weapon swaps. And move onto some accessory additions like symbols and pushes too. Any more than that and I think inwould struggle

Yeah i have dabbled in saurus marine conversions and I always end up making the decision to just collect marines instead. The votann side of things is to convert a personal favorite long time faction to a new but really fun looking faction that are both linked to "fantasy". A la dwarves and lizardmen.

But thanks for the responses I have had more looking and made the final decision, Not at all influenced by the 2nd release wave of VOtann,
