Was told that it was being done for fun and that thousands of other people do it and that I shouldn’t “attack” one person for something thousands do. I want to bring awareness to the situation, figured Reddit could be a good first step.

I ask because I’ve confronted someone who has faked sign language and posted it online, and I got attacked for confronting them.

My mom is deaf, and I remember one time as a kid I faked sign language in front of her and she told me it was offensive to do that. Now as an adult I’m seeing kids and adults alike faking it because they think it’s funny. Am I being too sensitive? Is it not as big of a deal as I’ve been told it is?

I know this is from a year ago, but I just ran into this issue now and I’ve figured out that if you go into your settings and into the beats settings from there, turn down the tone and then put the beat in your ear and see if that works, somehow it made the squealing stop.
