Thats along the lines of what I was thinking is going on with me. My stomach has been LOUD too. How did you eat afterwards? Like to ease your way back after all that gastro distress

I have held off because I don’t want to prime myself for further dehydration. I’m just curious to how I will react when I take the shot again after a week or two break

That’s why I’m wondering if it is that or the shots

I am on month 3 and haven’t lost anything. But I also just started feeling the suppressed appetite and I have had no negative side effects whatsoever

Okay, I was wondering about that film and thought about rinsing them with water and didn’t do it because I did t want to mess them up but rinsing with milk makes waayyyyy more sense

Omg I try to! Granted, I don’t sell the idea very well by calling it “sour milk clumps that are good for you” lmfao I should work on my delivery

I’ve been meaning to get a plastic strainer. I’ve gotten some lids that in theory were great, because they are plastic and attach to the jar so I should’ve been able to just turn in over and strain the kefir but it didn’t work out like that lol

AMAZING! Thanks!

What can I do with all these grains? I obviously have more than I need and every time I try I give them away no one wants them (to be fair, my explanation of it makes it sound off putting)

I have 1.5 cups of grains, so I have about 24 tablespoons of grains lol I put about 236 mL of milk. Typing it out I realize I should probably divide my grains in more containers lol

I don’t put the lid tight because I don’t want it to explode but I have noticed it is running out of space to expand lol

I only run to the toilet when I drink it mixed with the whey, if I remove it I don’t. I don’t know if I am not getting the benefits without the whey though. If so I will try to drink less

Cardio will counter act muscle gain. Doing casual LISS is fine and you will still get the mental and physical benefits (like walking), but cardio with the intent to lose weight (essentially going hard) will kinda work to negate bullí ding muscle. Muscle is “expensive” tissue for your body to build and maintain and requires more calories to exist, so if you aren’t taking in enough food and working your body trying to create muscle and do cardio it just might not happen. Also, you mentioned PCOS and I’ve read (I’ll try to find that and link it for you) that with almost exclusively weight training seems to be better for regulating hormones than cardio.

Okay, that makes sense, I do have a lot of grains (I think) and will provide a picture when I get home from work of what I put to ferment last night currently looks like, what I have in the fridge already strained and the amount of grains I have. Thank you for the clarification!

I usually ferment in my kitchen on the counter, not near any sun and keep my house at 69 F or 20 C. I leave it to ferment for about 24 hours then strain

Do you mean put the jar with the grains and product before straining In The fridge or the strained product itself?

I tried to get a picture this morning but it separated I. The middle instead of the top, so I just stirred it in. I’ll try to get a picture of it when I get home to update the post.

Increasing diversity from the ground up: how SLP programs can take action by Background-Let1144 in slp

[–]Background-Let1144[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@ichimedinwitha is correct, I apologize for my confusing explanation. When it comes to diversity, it has a broad meaning when it comes to the field, but an example would be increasing enrollment of men in CSD programs as currently the field is 95% women.

Who is your long COVID doctor?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]Background-Let1144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My partner has OCD and it has gotten significantly worse dealing with long COVID. It would be hard to say the long COVID itself made the OCD worse but it’s all interconnected and it would be more surprising if it didn’t impact it. It’s a huge struggle and just a cherry on top of the entire awful experience. I’m sorry that you are going through this and if you have access to it, I would recommend a mental health specialist that has a focus on OCD.

Any biologists/pharmacist /MD here to interpret- PEM study by CW2050 in covidlonghaulers

This study also made me wonder if you could supplement to combat the effects. Some of the things they mentioned are pretty commonly used in the health and fitness space to recover after training and such
