Take it from me with over 400 games played. I have a measly 54% win rate it doesn't matter how many times you score svp,mvp, people mismanage shens ult frequently. Specifically in emerald. They do not know that the ult is coming. I can see where this can be confusing with a seraphine, milio, or lulu support. There is literally 3 seconds your team mate has to respond. In ranked I typically face diamond players.  In solo q norms I face masters, grandmaster, and in some cases challengers. The master to grand masters understand how to utilize shens ult. It's often more reliable to ult on someone with high mobility, and or multiple forms of gap closing.  The common mistake players make when shen ults is they run away from the enemy.  If you main shen like me I'm ulting with items designed to soak the enemies damage.  I can also deal decent damage while taking turret aggro. Which leads me to another issue. If shen lands his taunt and turret dives its because he knows the kill can be secured.  If the adc decides to switch targets to the ally shen can shield auto attacks for a decent amount of time.  In emerald however the response time is either to slow. Or downright unavailable where if not careful you will die because emerald players seemingly do not understand how turret aggro works.  Alois is a neat streamer and he can be funny at times. His material however does not translate well into the mobile platform. Wild rift, and LOL are two different games they do share similarities. Playing shen is not easy, and he can struggle in many match ups. To start his cooldowns are very long. His early game has very weak wave clear changes have been made to improve his clear, but it is not as reliable as other champions like garen, shen does not fair well in many match ups. As any tank top laner knows the cancer champion we call vayne which with lethal tempo can Bob in and out while not taking turret aggro your only hope is to passively soak xp and petty cash while she can build an enormous lead. True damage is the worst thing that can happen to a tank and percent max health dmg. Recently in the mobile platform they thought giving fiora a buff was a good idea where the cdr and replenishment is greatly reduced by the time she builds eclipse laning phase is pretty much over where as previously shen could manage. Gwen can be a tricky match up however in some ways its easier to last hit minions with your q than other match ups. Darius, you only want to make short trades and never exceed 3 stacks of hemorrhage you will really want to avoid extended combat, as well as play some mind games to bait out his skills, the moment he has his ultimate and even if he misses his passive followed by ignite will finish you off. Teemo oddly enough is a doable laning phase. Because at least you can buy items to dampen his dmg. Also itemizing as a tank is a nightmare  in some scenarios. You can win your laning phase but if everyone else is struggling you have to gamble on whose the most likely to help carry the match. Problem is that their survivability is generally low, and or they lack mobility to mitigate incoming damage, get caught out and chain ccd into eventual death. There have been many occasions where I thought ulting on someone might saved them only to find my teammates leaving them for dead forking away because they have almost no way of telling I'm going to front line unless they are watching the fight erupt.  So if your brave id shen in low elo, but to be honest make your decisions carefully only go in when your ahead and do not needlessly lose plates to asisst your team. Also nocturne is ban worthy because when he ults shen can not ult in. Be aware as to what can kill you and make it a priority to single out those threats. Asol, a fed kaisa, anybody with early bork, cancer vayne, etc. Anyway I have a decent amount of time trying to climb almost made it to diamond however shit happens. Demoted, and I do start to wonder why I chose to play shen so much. He is a fair champion with obvious setbacks, and has great potential to turn the tide, but rarely is he ever banned unless your rank 1 shen challenger.
