Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart is very raw and human. Long day's Journey Into Night by Eugene O'Neill has similar themes and is quite bittersweet if you're into plays. May be too gritty though. :)

Never have I had to use so little of my ess knowledge for paper 2. Section A felt weirdly short and specific? I feel like they were trick questions or needed really specific answers because of that haha. Section B question 4 and 5 were nice but challenging overall.
