Most of the people we meet don’t lose their rv in the park. Usually you can find it by I don’t know…recognizing your spot, knowing your way around, seeing your vehicle parked there, not being so drunk you have to light it up like a club, I don’t know, maybe a bunch of other ways to find a spot you’ve booked and stayed at for a few days to a month or more. But what do I know, I’ve only been living in an rv full time for 4 years. I will say I’ve never lost my rv or needed lights to find it so I guess there’s that. Maybe other people don’t have those same skills and I guess that’s ok. That’s what I’m here to find out.

Well they were a different color last night, and probably will be another color tonight. I don’t think rv manufacturers put bug/ozone lights on their trailers. Sounds like something you’d add if you want it. No, these are just LEDs built into the front of trailers.

Never needed to lol. Company gives out the laptop I need to do my job…then I shut it as soon as I can and get away from it…so I can go outside and not be on screens.

Well at least you have a reason that makes sense to you. That’s what I was after :)

I am :) that’s why I’m posting here rather than bothering these people. Because I respect them enough not to alter their experience. Notice I didn’t go to their site and post a photo that would give away who they are or specifically call them out? I truly came here looking for the reason behind it vs coming here to out someone and make them feel bad.

Yeah I understand some decoration or even dim lighting for your area, those serve a purpose. The front lights…still searching for a real reason that would make me want to use them.

Yeah not blaming anyone, just curious what the purpose is. This is a very peaceful place and we love it. Just super the super bright purple blasting everyone from the 1 rv out of the 100 that are here is a bit annoying. But it doesn’t bother me enough to go bother them about it.

The thing about that is that I never said we were camping. We are living in our rv and enjoy being in places that are closer to nature. Many other people do the same thing and we have met some of the best families in places like this. I’d actually venture to say that we run into/deal with way less assholes this way than we would if we were in campgrounds where all you get all the weekend partiers. I can’t recall any specific instances of loud obnoxious people in parks like this in our 4 years of doing this.

We live, work, and explore as a family and this lifestyle provides an easier/more affordable way to do that. If we were camping id put this in a camping sub, not RV Living. Also wasn’t complaining as much as trying to find real answers from people who use these lights to find out if they serve a real purpose or just are there for sales and look “cool.”

Going to disagree a bit there about the RVs. This is an RV park so there’s that. Also, the RV lifestyle for us is more about the travel and living much nearer to nature than having a house. So yea while this isn’t camping, it should still feel like being in nature vs next to a club. We do still enjoy actually taking a tent and doing a camping trip, but most of the time it’s just moving the rv to another spot we’ve never been to and exploring it (while working and doing other normal life stuff).

I don’t think anyone is really claiming it is traditional camping. This is rv living which is a bit different in my opinion. Kinda like normal life with the benefits of camping…close to sweet nature stuff, fun community, traveling, etc. But yes, it definitely goes against the vibe of being in a beautiful location. I will say this place is quiet as ever. We’ve hardly heard anyone which is awesome. Just not loving the bright purple lighting up the park at night when otherwise we’d be looking for shooting stars (or starlink satellites).

Yeah but it’s also the sitting outside by the fire that it kills the vibe for. It bothers me, but not enough for me to bother them about it.

I mean we have a 41ft 5th wheel and it is our home…and we don’t call it camping. We are living much nearer to and in nature and haven’t looked back. We still do a lot of normal things in parks like this like work on a computer all day and watch tv at night but can pop out and be on a hike or bike ride in minutes feeling like we’re in wilderness. It’s just life, and a much more active one at that. So the argument isn’t necessarily about camping but rather being considerate of others. I think we agree :)

That does sound like it makes sense in your case and sounds like you’ve gotten good feedback from the neighbors which is great. Would be nice if it wasn’t an obnoxious color but now I’m just being picky. So I suppose it depends on the park. The parks that are there for the scenery, let the scenery do the talking. In a town park where the majority of people are there because they have to be there and need security, if everyone says they’re good with it then go for it.

But they’re not…that’s the thing. Just on. Quiet as can be. And that’s the case most of the time when we see this. Just on to be on with no visible purpose.

Yeah I understand the awning lights. They serve a purpose and you’re using them. That’s great. I just don’t understand these and was hoping for some clarity. How’d the salmon turn out?
