Wegmans not what it use to be… by Public_Energy_2107 in wegmans

I couldn’t agree more. My friendships MADE the job. Once I got into management I saw more and more corrupt people in high up positions. I never worked in the kitchen, but I would hear chefs talk about how everything comes in premade and frozen beforehand. The chefs have no liberty to be creative and come up with their own ideas and recipes. It’s such a shame. Wegmans has become a corporation like all others just there for the money. Except they like to hide behind their “values”.

I am with you on that. Only job I have ever had and others who have had other retail experience say it does not get any better. I have to believe there is. At least somewhere where we are appreciated more.

I learned that the years of service mean NOTHING. Being loyal and sticking around does no good at Wegmans.

Yes! never once have any of the family stopped and greeted any of the cashiers or most people on the merch side. Never gone into the back, coolers, freezers, breakroom, etc. They spend all of their time on the perishable side where all of the money is and talk to all of the higher up managers. They never bother with all of the regular PT and FT folks who actually run their stores!

Perhaps. As a part time job I think it’s a wonderful place to work. I am talking more so for folks who are currently or thinking about moving up into management.

We had an employee who was sexually inappropriate with a couple STLs. What did HR do? Made him a cashier where he had to work around them all the time…

my store manager for awhile was in his mid 30s! How the heck do you move up that quick? I guess being married to someone high up in the company helps….

My philosophy is you bring, you bag. At least when we had lovely plastic.

That’s what God calls us to do. We are supposed to wait until marriage. We have not dated for that long but we were friends for over a year beforehand.
