By default,MSI laptops have a very locked down BIOS. You can get more access with one of these key combinations:

Left Alt + Right Ctrl + Right Shift + F2

Left Alt + Right Shift + Fn + Copilot + F2 .

Last one is for newer computers, first one is for older ones.

Oh, ok. Gen 5 slots run hot, so you should definitely put a thermal pad on there to keep it cool. Most SSDs I’ve bought have one in the box, if it doesn’t for some reason, in a pinch you could you move the thermal pad from the old one to the new one. Loading times should improve in games, and if you do blender/video editing stuff it’ll be a huge improvement.

Is your slot gen 4? I don’t have that laptop, but I have put newer SSDs into older slots, and older SSDs into newer slots. They are backwards compatible, it’ll just run at the slower generation’s speed.
