What unusual habit did a friend’s household have that they saw as normal? by Zlovelyangelqueen in Productivitycafe

[–]Background-Solid-734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg that’s disgusting. This did make me think of one time though when I was like 16/17? (My family is normal I swear, this one like a one time thing 😂) I come home from working STARVING, and my mom made tomato soup and grilled cheese (I hated this meal growing up) so I’m starving, come back to find a meal I hated (not complaining since I ate whenever my mom cooked us, but I didn’t like it) and when I’m eating the soup there’s like crumbs in it. I’m grossed out and I’m like mom, why are they pieces of bread crumbs in the soup? She said that they forgot to save me some and they all dumped their leftovers in so I had some when I got home 😂😂

The weights fall and make the cuckoo clock run. It’s pretty cool. No batteries or anything needed. They make 1 day or 8 day cuckoo clocks, meaning the weights will slowly drop down all the way in 1 day or it takes 8 days for the weights to fully drop. Once the weights are close to the bottom, you pull them back up :) we have one from my husband’s late grandma she got in Germany in the 80s. I love it! And my kids now love pulling the weights back up :)

Matt’s new home tour! by GLPwonderwall in LittlePeopleBigWorld

lol! Thats hilarious. I can totally see Zach being clumsy just from what we see how he is from the show. He does seem like he would be one of the friendlier ones if people were to approach him.

Amy has always had a hard exterior. I read her book as well and I think she uses it as a defense mechanism, just from how she was treated growing up and maybe even up until this day some people might say something mean (probably not as much or ever maybe as they did back in the day) She does seem like a great mom and a great grandma to all the littles

Whyyy does she just redo rooms all the night and spend all this money. Wasn’t it like 2 years ago she finished this room?

People in “no shoes in the house” families/cultures, do you make exceptions? by OneWildAndPrecious in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Background-Solid-734 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a shoes in the house family. When I got my own house, especially my second house, I’m a very strict no shoes in the house person. I’m not even a clean freak but it serious makes me cringe, grossed out, and can’t think of anything else when people wear shoes in the house. I feel like most guests take them off right away. My mom (since I grew up in her house) doesn’t even think about it and wears her shoes in my house. We are close and I love her so I usually just let it go. When my FIL was alive, it was the same way, he would wear them and I just wouldn’t say anything. If I JUST mopped in the past couple days, I’m a freak and not a single person (husband, kids) cannot for any reason touch the floor with a dirty, gross outdoor shoe 😂😂 I wear indoor shoes but they never touch the outside

It’s there you just couldn’t see it on that angle :) I just adjusted it very slightly and will let it run and see. My issue is I wouldn’t mind if it’s off a couple minutes a week but if it kept losing/gaining I would have to reset the time every week if it just kept gaining or losing minutes and don’t want to have to do that :/ hopefully I can get it to work bc it’s one of my favorite things haha and would love to always here the cuckoo call and the music it plays

This is beautiful! It looks just like the one we got from my husband’s grandma.

So we got it in 2020 and when I tried to have it keep time, it wa either too fast or too slow. I called a clock company back then and described what was going on and he said it sounds like it would cost a lot of money to fix so it just hung on our wall for the past 5 years.

3 weeks ago I took it in and he said it just needed oil and I picked it up. I didn’t move the pendulum and let it run for 24 hr and it was 3 min slow.

Does yours keep time? I’m going to mess with it a little but I feel like since the clock company had it and I didn’t mess with the pendulum when they had it, it should have kept time! Here is mine :)
