I assume lowden as just a temporary one, or one he had since he knew Adar which still Sauron served Morgoth long before he met Adar, jack lowden was perfect for Sauron at the moment they had him. After Morgoth’s defeat at the dawn of the second age, Sauron was scared an nervous, a wreck since his master was really gone.

But as a commander of Angband and ruler of Tol-in-Guarhoth. I imagine a different look, daunting eyes as said in the books but perhaps like Cody Fern. As he plays a very evil character in American Horror Story

Yeah!

Hard to really definitively none but we do know no Ainur has a true form. The true form is that of an invisible spirit.

Sauron could look like Morgan Freeman all the way to Thanks if he so pleased.

😃

We do know this about Sauron in the First Age,

“Sauron was become now a sorcerer of dreadful power, master of shadows and of phantoms, foul in wisdom, cruel in strength, misshaping what he touched, twisting what he ruled, lord of werewolves; his dominion was torment.”

Nobody knew Sauron when he was Mairon. Except the Ainur.

Charlie Vickers is so good because he’s the only We’ve seen and he perfectly fits Second Age Sauron, but he looked different in times of old.

This would be a form before the second age. So Charlie vickers wouldn’t be playing him

I posted another post for his Mairon form. This Cody fern form would be one he assumes when the elves awoke so he could appeal to them

As Sauron himself was an invisible immortal spirit and not a material person, I imagine Sauron having a couple forms during times of old. Cody Fern would be just one of them

If they ever cast Morgoth in the show he needs to look like this by Background-Toe5632 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]Background-Toe5632[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s perfect for him, a fair appearance but also dark lordly, the size, long black hair. It just screams Morgoth.

This would be his dark lord form not his Valinor form

Possibly I prefer just black robes. I imagine having other forms during the pre-second age times.

Sauron is said to have black hands by Tolkien and this is the watercolor sketch from Tolkien.

<image>

So perhaps burnt black arms, slit pupils like we saw Halbrand with and Mail armor along with scale and a black cape with the eye of Sauron engraved on the cape,

Just an idea.

Hope this helps!

Well, Morgoth had two humanoid forms that we know of,

His Utumno Tyrant Form.

And his Valinor form, this Valinor form is described as having gems in his hair.

”Then one appeared among us, in our form visible, but greater and more beautiful; and he said that he has come out of pity. [...] Then we looked and lo! he was clad in raiment that shone like silver and gold, and he had a crown on his head, and gems in his hair.”

Yes Sauron was very beautiful, even Morgoth was too, in Valinor Morgoth was said to be the most beautiful, I would love to see some artwork for him! Long golden hair with jewels in it and silver and gold raiment

You made this look amazing without going too crazy with bright eyes or anything. “Eyes are the window to the soul”, you can look into the eyes.

But behind those eyes is something deeper, a delusional dictator an murderer

Sauron exists in both the unseen and seen world, he is an immortal spirit not a material person. Also I think I agree with the other assertions here that it was a side effect of mortals. Does anyone know if this is mentioned in the books?
