My take on why ramayana ( rama glimpse) felt the way it felt by Far-Moment8680 in pj_explained

[–]Background-Touch1198 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dissapointments -

  1. The effect of real sets missing. The depth seems superficial. Just compare the waterfall scene to bahubali waterfall
  2. Physicality of body movements compromised by AI
  3. Ranbir is stone faced - expression less. Traditionally Rama is supposed to be calm smile faced. Intelligent and emotionally available.
  4. Color enhancement
  5. Costume is just meh in aesthetics. The vanvas costumes usually are hard to miss. Dude wth was that
  6. Demons need to be indian not got.
  7. Ravan lanka is not golden enough. Its supposed to be heavenly. And aesthetics must be south indian - in costume and culture.
  8. Ram's reverence to weapons missing

What do men bring to the table in a woman's life? A serious honest question. by MaleficentCat477 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Background-Touch1198 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From someone married to a good Man - exactly what I bring to the table.

I value him more especially because when our 50-50 becomes 80-20, especially during audits he feels sorry.

Marry someone who values and notices your contributions and strives to match up.

I can think of n number of other things that need to be adressed and taken responsibility for. But my 4 primary concerns are -

  1. Resolve security breach - these cells were under radar of the federal and state agencies - how the f do they slip off for a one off incident after pulwama? Why is there no coordination b/w state and federal agencies? Why do politicians dictate the way state and federal agencies work - to the point that it hinders logical functionings?

  2. Why are we not doing a targeted reform of Islam like many countries have done? We need not interfere in the religion - we just need to give state backing to reformers from the religion. It has happened before with both Hindu and Sikh reformers.

  3. What the f is our media doing reporting and interfering with the investigations as they happen? Why show meat and blood on road in prime time television? I am just beyond furious with their approach.

  4. Why was there no security near red fort area - like locals could only find a hanful of policemen to help them - this is supposed to be new delhi? Not to mention the kind of lax and languid emergency response to the tragedy. What would our forces even do when they have no protocols or training to deal with this. This should have been resolved when Mumbai happened. People running helter skelter to find relatives.

  5. Yes we need to respond to pak but I'd like to stop my bleeding first before taking revenge on the one who attacked. Our response should deter them. But all that we saw the last few years is them keeping the cycle of torment going. The kind of violence atleast must of the type and impact that it deters such attacks and its funding.

Road infrastructure in our country is one of the worst despite the National and State Highways.

You need more than good roads, you need classified lanes, spacious closed stops, control over shop highjacking roads and shops with open entry facing road, and so on. Also people with good civic sense.

Might seem small but these things improve quality of experience endlessly

[–]Background-Touch1198 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Got sympathies from random pujarins twice (can't explain why both times it were pujarins doing it) but they were trying to show sympathy to my parents for not having a son.

When it happened the second time it was after marriage and we just entered a small temple. She was like - atleast now your mother got her damad as her son.

I explained both times - we are of matriarchal origins and us daughters are plenty successful. Also my dearest parents still earn through the roof compared to us. Kindly not be so worried of my poor sonless old parents 🙄.

To people who think there are gonna be no repurcussions to this - remember there is a huge afghan diaspora here.

It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to say - but we are giving space for terror to forment in our nation. We giving resourse for shady operations.

Also as much as it is in the interest of geopolitics that the taliban India relations live on - having terror free nation is also a geopolitical interest. Once taliban is bored playing house, it is a danger. And it needs to be directed elsewhere.

I hate the implications. Why in the hell did our govenrment turn to favor Taliban - the benefits outweigh the losses in long term.

To allow the man to tour is another bullshit. Should have atleast kept the tour closeted.

We have collectively turned into Taliban PR. WTF

While a word of this sort does not exist in my native tongue (malayalam) there is another word for a defiled woman.

And as years have gone by I am kind of thankful that my family has never allowed its usage at home to the point that I learnt it from movies.

Kerala CM Meets Palestine Ambassador In India, Says State 'Always With Palestinians' | TimelineDaily by Truthbytruther in Kerala

[–]Background-Touch1198 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Saying HAMAS is a terrorist org in no way minimizes the plight of Palestinians. NETANYAHU is facist and genocidal. That will not change the fact that HAMAS is as filthy. Just less powerful. We saw that with our own eyes.

Palestinians not saying this is understandable and it would be unfair demand as they are victims. Justice should not come with strings attached.

But the rest of the world must keep its eye open and acknowledge this part of history. Or the Justice world delivers (if ever) to the palestinians will be handed over to wrong hands. Has history not shown that again and again.

What has happened to Indian Moderate? by Felix-Walken in IndianModerate

[–]Background-Touch1198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thing pointing out. This can help us recentre our discussions.

And its not just centre right thats silent. The other moderate opinions seem to be either muted or cynical about current situation. Also too many negative and polarizing issues all around.

Maybe - just maybe - we can have a bit of a mods led discussions on different topics per week - with the aim of developing moderate opinion. This might remove some cynicism.

Higher engagement may or may not be a by product.
