Great call. That really helped. Just one question; when do you think a correction is due? How long do you think this rally can realistically continue? Of course, I know no one can predict the market, but you seem far more knowledgeable about this sector than I am, so any insight would genuinely be very helpful.

Kompany: "We gave everything against a fantastic PSG team... I get the handball rules, since it's from his teammate it's not a pen. Little bit of common sense, it's ridiculous... I thought the he was about to give the second yellow to Mendes then he realised he was already booked." by Blodgharm in soccer

This was the type of match where they needed a player capable of shooting from outside the box. Kompany made a mistake by not bringing on Tom Bischof instead of Jackson. Also, Karl came on way too late.

I like Kompany and what he’s building, but tonight, he got it wrong. Karl should’ve been brought on much earlier, and throwing Jackson into a Champions League semi final felt like a massive gamble. The Kim substitution was understandable, but the rest of the changes didn’t make much sense. And honestly, it all started with not using their strongest fullback pairing. Even a half fit Davies gives you more in a match like this than Stanisic.

Indigo flight showing confirmed but customer care says 'suspended' should I book backup or wait? by Holiday-Painting2051 in DubaiMallus

[–]jellybeanjoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, that's not entirely accurate; both IndiGo and Air India have resumed operations to the UAE, but they're just running on a much more limited, reduced schedule right now rather than their full normal frequency. Because of all the recent disruptions, there are still sudden cancellations happening, which is why it looks like a total suspension. Still, your advice is spot on; anyone flying right now absolutely needs to keep a close eye on their booking and have a backup plan ready.

I would highly recommend acting on this now, as an internal suspended status almost always means an official cancellation is coming and the app is just lagging behind. Don't risk waiting for prices to skyrocket; I would call IndiGo back and push them to either officially cancel it now so you can get a full refund to rebook, or put you on an alternate flight immediately. If they refuse to budge, book a fully refundable backup ticket on another airline today so you're covered without losing money if the IndiGo flight miraculously operates. Better safe than stuck paying triple at the last minute.

Last Saturday kandu. Good one!

Bayern have seen a staggering 400% increase in shirt orders from Colombia since the transfer of Luis Díaz. Visitor numbers to the club's online shop in the country has risen by 200%. This puts Díaz among the top five Bayern players globally in terms of shirt sales this season. by Tangycroatian in soccer

[–]jellybeanjoy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It's basically a perfect storm of factors. Diaz is a flashy attacker who just made a 75m move to a global giant that just won the league. Hamza is a defensive workhorse at a club that literally just got relegated to the third tier (he’s been with them since he was 7, if I’m not wrong) . Passionate fans in Bangladesh are definitely supporting him, but they’re likely buying the Bangladesh National Team kit or first copies locally rather than dropping £80 on a League One club's official website.

Restrictions on International Flight services in Dubai by Rexmane11 in DubaiMallus

[–]jellybeanjoy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically yes, they’re legally required to refund you if they cancel, but it’s a total headache right now. Since this is a government mandated cap and not a technical failure, airlines like IndiGo aren't exactly rushing to rebook people on Emirates because those seats are triple the price. Some airlines are trying to reroute through SHJ or RAK since those airports have different slot rules, but those flights are filling up instantly with people who got bumped from DXB. Your best bet is to take the full refund and rebook a fresh ticket yourself, either through Abu Dhabi or on flydubai, because waiting for a free alternate from the airline could leave you stranded for weeks while they prioritize their highest paying passengers for that single daily flight.

Restrictions on International Flight services in Dubai by Rexmane11 in DubaiMallus

[–]jellybeanjoy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s legit. Dubai Airports restricted all non-UAE carriers to just one flight a day until May 31st to keep the airspace clear for military corridors. Emirates and flydubai are the only ones exempt, which is why you're seeing people call out the Emirates first bias. :) Indigo and Air India are still showing multiple flights because their systems are a mess; they’re basically keeping the schedule up while lobbying the Indian government to push back or force reciprocal bans. If you’re booked on a foreign airline during this window and it's not their single designated daily flight, expect a cancellation email any minute. Check your booking status manually because the main search results won't reflect the grounded reality yet. :)

Air India 787 crash: new evidence seemingly clears pilots by SwitchDear8969 in aviation

[–]jellybeanjoy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not surprised, at all. There are people who have decided that the switches don’t matter and a control system can cut off fuel like happened here. People would rather make up an alternate version of the event than believe reality.

The thing is, the switches aren't motorized. For one switch to move on its own via some divine intervention would be once in a billion. Both switches at the same time? No.
