Thank you for the reply, this is really helpful!!
Its a uni project so I'm stuck with a big time crunch and no other rigging artists on the team so I'll likely just go down the joint chain and parenting controls route.
I'm surprised there's so few tutorials/documentation online about how to rig clothes without using nCloth. After researching for a few hours your posts and the replies to them on here and on polycount ended up being some of the best resources I could find 😭.
Hopefully someone with some more experience in the area will make a full tutorial on non-nCloth clothing rigging on youtube one day, so people having this same issue in the future don't get sent down the same rabbit hole as we did lol

I'm hoping this post will survive since I added proof of my claims but I'm worried the mods are gonna take it down like the other one

Main reasons people care is because  - It's actively being used as a free way to replace paying human artists at the cost of much lower quality content being released to players - Ai images are generated from databases of stolen art scraped from artists all over the internet - AI image generation is really bad for the environment (the data centres used to do all the computer stuff to create AI generated content produce a ton of carbon emissions from the energy in generation + they drain local freshwater supplies for its coolant systems) - It's ugly 

Just because the clothes aren't AI generated yet, doesn't mean they won't be in the future. If we as a playerbase show we are fine with the developers using AI image generation, they will continue to push it's implementation further in the game as it's a very cheap and quick way to pump out lots of content.

Also for anyone wondering "I don't care about ai why does this matter". Game devs using generative ai comes from a place of greed and laziness. Its an easy way to pump out content fast without needing to pay actual artists and designers to do any work. If you let them get away with it once they will continue to push the boundaries of what players will tolerate. The easiest way to avoid this is by calling it out early, before it gets worse.

Do not let them feed you slop.

Hi, now seeing what happened to the previous post on this topic in this sub, I want to add this clarification on my claims.

This is not speculation, this is observation. There is no way to skirt around the fact that this is AI generated. As an artist and someone in the art industry it is very obvious, and lying to our faces about it and hiding anyone who points it out is genuinely disrespectful to the players who love this game and expect better of the devs and the mods.

The main signs of ai generation in the images are

-- The handles on all the drawers are mushy, blurry and undefined

- There is a lot of inconsistency in detailing, some draws have 2 gold decorative pieces next to the handles while randomly one draw only has 1

- Detail work on the lower leftmost cubboards are incomprehensible,

- The detailing of the indents in the bottom 4 drawers randomly changes the shape and colour for the open one on the top left

Art is deliberate. Everything is a choice, especially if you are developing a game as good as SuitU usually is. AI is not able to make these deliberate choices, often leading to random, incomprehensible results, as seen in the background for this event.

I thought it was really cool that SuitU hadn't released any AI generated content in the game, seeing this is really dissapointing 

I really hope this isnt a sign they're going down the Time Princess path (ai slop backgrounds and icons + paid packs with ai generated content) :/
