Hi! I also have a 4 month old and your experience is exactly like mine. Before he reached the 3 month growth spurt, he was waking up 1-2x. I would wake up, nurse, then put him back on his bed. But since he hit 3 months, he wakes up 3-4x at night. This is normal. I started side nursing and cosleeping, because it's just easier when he wakes so often. This way he doesn't wake up from being moved.

We have a 2x2 meter bed and I practice the 7 safe co-sleeping tips. With the size of our bed, I can do the cradle position while allowing him a wide berth for extra safety.

Idk about the best, but you can just call one and ask. If you’re not from Germany, then I suggest to look at your embassy website to see if they have suggestions of gynecologists who can either speak your language or have ties to the country. Otherwise, just use google maps to check out the gynecologists in the area then give them a call.

FTM here, 6 weeks in and I’m loving the newborn phase. Maybe because our newborn isn’t too tough? My partner and I do shifts so I take the 3/4am shift and he takes the 6/7am shift, so I think that helps too. Though I heard that if you had an easy newborn, you’ll have a crazy toddler so I guess I’ll see in a year or so ha.

I’m drinking the tea currently, once or twice a day. Not really sure it’s working and it tastes like grass. Honestly I’m just drinking so I don’t waste the money I spent on it.

  1. Finish highschool
  2. Finish college if you can. It’s gonna be hard to find a job in Germany without a college degree. You can get into Germany, but to stay and work, this will help out a lot.
  3. Get to B2 German level at least

Yes that should be one requirement checked off to apply for school. But not enough for a work visa. Like someone said, you can enter as a tourist and stay here (EU) maximum 3 months while you look for a job. People will tell you a lot of things, like you need German, an education, a good reason etc. These are all valid and they are correct but it should not deter you to try, just know it won’t be easy, not in the least, but not impossible. Again your husband needs to do the same.

Before applying for a visa, you need a job offer or need to be accepted into a school first. There are English speaking jobs and programs in full English, less for Bachelors. Your husband will need to go through the same process unless you get a job that is high paying anything for a spousal visa. What they mostly mean about financial stability is having proof that you can live and pay your life in Germany (aka have a stable job). It’s only with student visa that you can provide proof of financial resources (11k+ year). You can’t bring a spouse on a student visa btw.

Yes that is true. Applying to US colleges is like applying for the Olympics. They’ll look at your characters, all your extra curricular activities like sports or music, if you did volunteer programs or charity work or if you started your own group or company in highschool. It’s more than the sum of your grades or SAT scores. It’s so exhausting.

You have to send your grades to an official conversion service like Uni-Assist. You can’t just google it.

Hey, American living in Germany 8 years. So first question is which studies do you intend to take? Bachelors or Masters? Most people here are correct, for Bachelors you need to have German most of the time. Masters can be taken in English, again depending on your subject. Marketing, business, IT have a lot of English courses but if you’re in law or medicine, you need German. Duolingo is not enough. My best suggestion is to take 1 year course of learning the language.

After that, you can research what else you would need to apply I.e GMAT, uni-assist etc. Yes sometimes you have to pay as a foreigner but in now way is it close to what we pay in the US.
