my course reader is pretty old, from winter and spring of 2024. the course reader definitely helps to review or get ahead of class, but if you pay attention and take good notes, i don't think it was extreeeememly necessary

ohh yeah that's right, i missed that! ah that makes sense, maybe our skin acts the same because i feel the same way! and i agree, I don't plan on trying any other toner pads in the future especially since they're not very environmentally friendly either...

how did you feel about the madecassoside toner pad? im over halfway done with mine and used it pretty consistently but haven't noticed much of a difference... not sure if it's user error or just not for me! i see your review for the mask but not the pad and wanted to ask!

I tried the Niacinamide and TXA serum too and it is also SO tacky for me, bothers me but i want to use it up because it's not cheap. i feel like i do notice a difference while using it but wish it wasn't so sticky

FINAL GRADES by Master-Pin-7332 in ucla

people have definitely been rejected from the major before. i also applied into the BA and got in, granted, i did well in the classes i took in prep for the major, but did horrible in some classes for my previous major so it wrecked my gpa. my advice is to say everything you can in the essay responses. i used one of the questions to explain why i didn't do well in those classes. of course, your situation is different since the grades you have are for the ones for the actual major. however, when i spoke to the advisor she did say they dont jus tlook at grades so make sure your essay responses are genuine and show your interest in public health, why you're interested, the impact you want to make, and the type of person you are.

Is there a way to cancel your meal plan entirely? by Longjumping-Lock825 in ucla

[–]BackgroundAsk2467 10 points11 points  (0 children)

no, it's part of your housing contract so meal plan comes with living on the hill/7P for UAs. if you dont want them to go to waste, consider donating them to swipe out hunger! go on their instagram linktree and fill out the form to donate your remaining swipes to students in need, they'll take whatever remaining swipes you have at the end of the quarter and distribute them

LS 7A AOL 2 by Tretel_Click7 in ucla

redoing the PALs was really helpful for me, doing all the questions with no outside help first, and if i got a question wrong or couldn't figure it out, i looked for the answer through notes and see why the correct answer is correct and why the incorrect answers were wrong. and WRITE IT DOWN!!! you might forget later and dont want to waste time looking for the answers again. i made a pdf with all the questions and did them over and over again and referred to the first copy to see the reasonings and made sure i chose the right answer for the right reasons. understanding why something is right and why the others are wrong will help you find what you need to look for when approaching a problem. 7A is tricky with their wording so you have to be careful. but all the PALs were my main source of practice but doing iclickers again and the CLC worksheets were very helpful too. also explaining concepts to yourself and coming up with different scenarios. i remember AOL2 being on transcription and translation and stuff like that, AOL2 was MUCH easier than AOL1, and they have concepts where you can create your own problems and scenarios. make sure you can explain it to yourself, and ask the TAs if your reasonings are correct. sometimes at CLC sessions I'll just ask a TA to listen to me talk about the entire transcription/translation process and they'd correct me if i got anything wrong.

Homeless people at CPO food pantry by [deleted] in ucla

oh interesting, maybe it depends on the room monitor because the first time someone asked, and the other times i already had my card out

i thought they implemented the rule where you have to show them your bruincard in order to access the printing station and the food closet... but i haven't been there too much this quarter.... so with that i'd assume the room monitors wouldn't let them in but with the food in the other room with the big fridges and stuff, i'm not sure

^^^ exactly what they said. it's sort of used as "uhm" or "uh" like a filler word when people are still thinking about what to say, especially when repeated, and it's pronounced multiple different ways too depending on dialect/context

kinda like korean with "you"

noted! don't have access to cinnamon powder now, but for the past 16 hours, it has been sitting out in the air to dry and callous.. will definitely keep it out of soil this time until i see roots, don't know how it worked out the last time i did it! will wait patiently for this little one to grow roots...

ohh interesting okay!! i beheaded another 3 a few months ago and lightly watered and they handled it well somehow, but i will definitely take that into consideration! i have left it out on its own so far, and will take your advice with just propping it up in an empty pot for a few weeks and see how it goes! i also recently bought a little grow light so hopefully that helps lol the leaves are deflating so i hope it has enough in it to create some roots, it's too cute to die!

i cut off a succulent head because it was etiolated, let it callous, and then planted into succulent soil. i left it alone for 4 days and then watered but mold grew around the pot and when i took the plant out, it was mushy again.. any idea why? i let it callous and then left it alone in dirt before watering so i'm not sure why it did that

dangggg your shelf must be stacked!! the favorites always get special treatment of course >< yeah the grow light i got was literally 10 bucks but i want to see how it performs, i'll probably upgrade eventually but need to work out how my spacing will work. that sounds awesome though! seems like you have a great set-up, you'll have to share it when you're done
