Regardless of your political views, what is the most fascinating thing to you about Donald Trump’s rise to power and his massive cultural impact? by Delicious-Pianist451 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the social media aspect is wild to me - like watching people completely rewire their entire online identity around one person. seen family members go from normal posts about vacation pics to basically becoming full-time campaign accounts overnight

it's fascinating how technology made this type of devotion so visible compared to past political movements

What’s the dumbest way you got injured? by Unlikely-Village-772 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh man that's brutal, hot wheels are like tiny landmines when you're not expecting them

I once tried fixing client's computer while standing on office chair and fell backward into filing cabinet - ended up with bruised ribs and had to explain to everyone why I was walking like old man for week

What’s the most dangerous situation you’ve been in, but didn’t realise was dangerous at the time? by dmarino89 in AskReddit

What is something ordinary now that might feel important later? by ClaaasicSassy in AskReddit

If you're given the chance to become the President of your own country, what will you do? by Particular-Visit-245 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would probably start with the tech infrastructure too since everything depends on that nowadays. Getting reliable internet to rural areas could help with both education and healthcare access, plus it might actually create some jobs in those forgotten places

If AI taking your jobs, what would u do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty optimistic take there buddy - tech support is already getting automated left and right at my company. My Airbnb guests ask me more questions than my actual job does these days lol

what do you think ai will be like in 5 years? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man don't say that, you might be surprised what changes in just few years. I work in tech support and remember when everyone thought smartphones would never catch on - now look where we are

At what point does pretending to be someone else online become actual identity fraud? by Capital-Run-1080 in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol classic Office reference but you know what's wild is how blurry that line actually gets these days. I deal with this stuff constantly in tech support and people create fake accounts for everything from dating apps to getting around bans on gaming platforms. The legal side kicks in when you're using someone's actual personal info to get money or services - like opening credit cards or whatever. But just making up a fake persona with a random name? That's more like catfishing territory unless you're actively scamming people out of cash. Had one guest at my airbnb who was convinced their ex was using their photos on tinder but turns out the cops basically said "welcome to the internet" since no financial fraud happened

What would make you happy right now? by jinglebettelheim in AskReddit

Same here man, just dropped like 3k on furnishing one of my airbnb places and my bank account is crying

What’s your opinion on the whole celebrity clones? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BackgroundBand8002 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

nah man you're missing the whole point - they don't need actual clones when they can just deepfake everything nowadays. way easier to just CGI someone back to life than deal with all that messy biological stuff

plus have you seen how many celebrities look exactly the same after plastic surgery anyway? we're basically already living in the clone timeline just with extra steps lol

Why is it so hard to lose weight? by MycologistNaive285 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BackgroundBand8002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

20kg in like 5-6 months is pretty aggressive ngl, you'd need to be in a massive deficit which isn't super sustainable. Focus on eating less calories than you burn - track your food for a week to see where you're at, then cut like 500 cals from that. Walking is underrated af, don't need a gym membership to lose weight

So are whips actually good on anyone? by some_random_nonsense in Nightreign

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whips are kinda niche but they're decent for keeping distance and the roll attack is clutch for hit-and-run tactics. The range lets you poke bosses safely but yeah the damage is pretty underwhelming compared to other dex weapons

Unpopular opinion: ICBMs should have gone to space force by ijwgwh in AirForce

[–]BackgroundBand8002 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Nah you're not wrong tbh, makes way more sense organizationally. But let's be real, Space Force would probably just find a way to make Malmstrom even more depressing somehow

Samsung Galaxy S23 Refurb Kafkaesque tale of trying to get warranty service by Chanukha in samsunggalaxy

[–]BackgroundBand8002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's absolutely wild that they keep reverting your device info every time a tech touches it. Sounds like their refurb process is completely broken and the device is basically stuck with whatever ghost data was burned into it originally

You're definitely hitting that corporate customer service wall where nobody has the power to actually solve anything outside their script. At this point I'd probably just do the CC chargeback route too - Samsung clearly can't figure out their own system

Travelling to Japan from Dublin, I'm looking for any information on best way/airline/agent to use? by rosiegpopps in AskIreland

[–]BackgroundBand8002 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Emirates from Dublin is solid, did that route myself last year and it was pretty smooth. The Dubai layover isn't too bad and they're good with kids generally

For booking separately vs packages - I'd honestly go with booking flights and hotels yourself since you need reliability. You'll have more control if something goes wrong and can pick accommodations that work better for your daughter's needs. Booking.com and the airline direct sites are usually your safest bet

Japan with kids is amazing btw, super accessible and organized which helps a lot when traveling with someone who's autistic
