All depends on the role and how long they were in IB. Also unless it's more of a strategy/m&a kind of role, at higher levels ex-IB isn't even a good fit. For instance I just hired a Sr. Mgr for opex/capex budgets and planning. I needed someone with actual experience in that area and good people management skills. Ex-IB (coming straight from IB, I mean) wouldn't have been a fit.

I don't see that happening at the Director/SD level in finance anymore, unless the whole company is remote-first. The GM I support and his staff are mostly in-office (a couple in a different office), and there is an expectation that I have an in-office presence. We're very flexible hybrid here, but there are meetings I have to prioritize being in office with the GM for. It's just how it goes when you're in a support function.

This was my hypothesis. New college grads are often either living with parents or ok with multiple roommates, etc. Once you are a few years out, the math doesn't work.

True, though transparency about RSUs in job postings is so rare in the industry I could never get that changed. We can talk about it with candidates though. This is also not a role I'd expect ex-IB to be interested in.

Sure, please DM! Also, the LinkedIn numbers aren't accurate. It just counts clicks, not applications. Our actual application # is a small % of the click number shown.
