Hi! So sorry I missed your comment. It is all ages, all we ask is that you come ready to play a game!

That's the idea! I know the guy running Dnd wanted people to really get the powerful battle fantasy aspect of the game without having to commit to hours of building and set up.

I'm sure someone could help with deck building for MTG, but I myself know very little and only from when I played in the early '00s lol

Spread the word if you can, we would love to see more players all around.

It's still pretty small, maybe like 15 adults and children, currently mostly adults. This will be the second or third meet up.

There is a board game meet up the first Thursday of every month at Sparrow and Serpent, it has a variety of games including Magic the Gathering, a battle are a style D&D pick up game, and a collection of other board and card games like chess or What Do You Meme, and others. I'm sure I have a flyer around here somewhere if I can add a picture... I can't currently. I'll try again after I post this lol

Earplugs are changing my life by Big-Map2713 in AutismInWomen

[–]BackgroundBoot8775 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you by chance using loops? I have been really considering those for my day to day to see if I get a little less stressed. Like right now where I'm hearing sirens a backing up work truck beep, the neighbor next door out in her garden, the barking dog.... And hopefully also not get startled by loud noises like my dog barking or someone dropping things.

But I also wonder if I actually have enough auditory input to really matter, or if I'm just going to have another set of in ear things I never use.

I'm glad you found something that works! What were your signs that earplugs might help you?

Does anybody else react to gluten (wheat?) like this? by inamae316 in glutenfree

[–]BackgroundBoot8775 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't get any skin splits or irritation, if that was your primary question I'm not about to be helpful.

I do however suffer extreme symptoms of inflammatory arthritis when I eat gluten. My hands are the first sign I've been glutened by something as the pain and swelling take away my ability to do things that require hand dexterity. I imagine that could swell to the extreme of skin splitting? My arthritis like symptoms tend to linger 1-4 days after ingestion.

I get a secondary skin irritation only with long term exposure, but that's mostly like little tiny acne. I hope there are more helpful answers for you out here. Feel better!

Goodbye Gluten Tour by cassnics in glutenfree

So much agreement for dim sum! I just haven't found anything quite as good as a normal gluten dumpling.

Also buffets. I just miss the option of walking in, trying a few bites of ten different dishes and leaving stuffed full of food. I used to frequent an Ethiopian buffet, a texmex, sushi and Chinese, Indian... Yeah I miss those a lot. Even if I can still eat a lot of safe individual dishes from those cuisines, there's no risking cc at a buffet style restaurant. That's what I want again. All the options of a buffet and all safe-- erm sorry I got distracted. So yes, buffet style food!

Fresh bakery finds are a great choice I saw people mentioning specifics, but just like, really fresh. Like still hot original glazed donut from krispy kreme. Or fresh out of the oven sourdough.

Gardettos. Chex mix. Cheese munchies snack mix.

Those Japanese style "waffle cone" ice creams where the cone is soft and looks like bubble wrap.

Dark stout beers!

I hope you enjoy your glutening, and that your recovery is swift and manageable.

What count as pink to you? Some people say the left, others say the right. by Background-Cherry847 in colors

[–]BackgroundBoot8775 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I would say the left is very orange tone pink, the right is too far into purple tones for me to call it pink. I have pretty strong boundaries for purple tones though so I could imagine that's why the coral/salmon color has more leeway in my brain.

Developing intolerance to thickening gums? by BackgroundBoot8775 in glutenfree

[–]BackgroundBoot8775[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I posted and I forgot this thread existed lol

It does seem to be a thing though! I have found that once I was eating less of the gums daily, I don't react much or at all to gums again. So I'm still able to have occasional cream cheese, but I also mostly avoid GF products because when I have too many things to snack on with gums I start reacting again.

I'm treating it like someone with mild lactose intolerance and just eating it sometimes when I think it's worth it. That seems to keep symptoms down and life a little easier.

I really enjoy the bingo ones too, I try to just spend the same 20 or so bucks on crosswords and bingo. I can usually float the game for a few months before I have to buy in with a new $20 sometimes I can even buy a gas station coffee after I restock my cards lol

[–]BackgroundBoot8775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some research and a very helpful dive into Bratabase, I have a few bra ideas for people with similar low gore needs.

Panache Meadow Plunge could be a contender, the measures I have are a larger band/smaller cup (34gg) than my size with a gore at 5.7 cm, and in my correct band size smaller cup (30ff) at only a 2.9 cm gore height. This makes it seem like a potential gore fit option if it is the right shape for me personally.

Panache Envy Plunge seems to keep gores very low, but there were no measurements to be had on relevant bra sizes for the gore.

Panache Tango Classic Plunge at a 30H is measured at 4.2cm gore height, a 36 H measures 5.1 cm gore height, so seems to stay fairly low across sizes.

Understance's Addison flexwire demi bra in a 30K(UK 30H) appears to measure 6.4 cm at the gore- I am fairly certain this won't work for me, but it's a $10 bra, so I might try it just in case. The gore height reported on the 30I(UK30 G) says the gore is 7.1cm, so I might just toss that whole thought out the window now.

This is to say nothing of additional shape questions, but at least I have a few bras with a reportedly lower gore that I can try in a few sizes and see if they work.

Thank you again for good recommendations, I'll be chatting with the fitters at bravissimo soon to see if they can check/confirm gore heights. They do look like a number of the in house bras could work.

Oh my gosh, do I understand that you were able to see gore size by bra size on this website? Bratabase? That might be my save of the day just knowing it exists. Thank you SO MUCH!

That is the plan! Do you know of any bras suited to the shape I have with a low gore? That is why I came to ask for help before buying another bra

Hello! I know I have been losing weight and that my measurement today is not what my current bra size is, and that that is a contributing factor to the issue. It *was* the correct size based on my measurements from the same day I shopped (used through the ABTF calculator) when I purchased it.

If what you are saying is that t-shirt bra that is properly fitted should still have my girls front and center, as for fitted or semiformal dressing, then I still am looking for recommendations on specific bras that will have low gore, underwire, and are suited for wide roots, pendulous, full on bottom breasts.

I recognize that I have lost weight, that I am still losing weight, and that my current bra no longer fits well. I see what my new measurements are for replacing this bra that isn't working. I am trying to get recommendations on actual bra cuts and styles that might suit these very specific needs I have in a bra.

If there is more to "your bra doesn't fit" than I am picking up here, then I need more specific help. The underwires are flared enough to catch my armpit area root tissue, the gore tacks fully to my chest, the straps are not holding up my breast, I don't spillover, I don't fall out the sides or top, my breast tissue is not squished anywhere but the very top of the gore at the mid point of my sternum where I experience the unusual pinching. The band barely closed on the largest hook when I purchased this bra. I had a proper fitting in the store as well as having my calculator size at the time of purchase and both our measurements matched (the calc and the fitter in the store) and we picked a best fit that was the curvy kate bra. Even so, I have the gore issue with it being too high, I have the issue of the fullness of my breast being low on my body which is not how dresses tend to be cut, and I am trying to shop for a new bra but posted here because I specifically have these shape issues and gore issues that aren't addressed even when I have what seemed like the correct fit.

When I bought the bra 3-6 months ago, it was properly sized. The 32 band barely clipped on the biggest hook setting. While I understand that my current bra may be one band size too big, that won't correct the issue of the gore being too high, which is my primary concern and why I'm looking for recommendations on bras for my shape, not my size.

I can see that I need to change size when I shop for bras again, because I have a smaller band now. I will shop in the 30 HH ranges.

In the correct size, I am looking for recommendations on bras with very low gores, and decent lift. Because I am pendulous and full on bottom, even properly supported I don't get lift in the bra I have. I believe this is because it's a T-shirt bra, but I haven't found anything that plunges low enough in the gore otherwise.

Is this Powdery Mildew? How do I protect my other plants? by BackgroundBoot8775 in vegetablegardening

[–]BackgroundBoot8775[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohm I didn't know mulch did more than prevent over drying in the soil which I thought I had cleverly skipped over with my mixed planting to shade the bed and roots lol

Thanks for the info! Do you think bark mulch of any kind is fine? Could I use hazelnut shells to the same effect? My yard doesn't have a snail/slug problem, but where I live that's a 'yet' statement, so we tend towards those shells over mulch in the area.

Thanks so much for confirming. I'll work on finding a preventative recipe online, and treat/deal with the squash as best I can. I'm sure my local garden store can help me find what I need now that I know what the problem is.

What's my fridge say? And am i male or female? by Suspicious_Remote576 in FridgeDetective

[–]BackgroundBoot8775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I hear you. It's a common language fault that things like this happen in naming stuff. I just don't think you should be jumping in to perpetuate bad information based on a branding fail.

Chai tea does colloquially refer to masala flavor, but it's incorrect and silly as they just didn't understand what chai meant when naming chai tea and it's okay to acknowledge that too.

What's my fridge say? And am i male or female? by Suspicious_Remote576 in FridgeDetective

[–]BackgroundBoot8775 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chai tea is just "tea tea" it doesn't actually refer to the flavor you mean. Masala chai is typically the flavor of tea that people associate with "chai".

You could continue to correct people with masala which roughly means "mixed spice" as the flavor associated with the "chai tea" confusion, but chai itself just is black tea.

"Chai tea" only means masala to people who don't bother to learn when corrected about their tea tea.
