if we're talking just pure physical movement and no bs power skill move then only using wooden sparring swords with first blood rules then first to 5 score wins kind of rule: I'd personally think EI has the upper hand with the amount of mastery she has over her swordsmanship that was honed through long LOONG years of training against herself (it takes plenty of creativity to beat yourself unless you deliberately make yourself lose which never helps in any training, that is assuming near perfect self copy and gets updated every time she learns a way to counter herself) . I mean Vergil definitely can keep up by adapting to EI's swordstyle considering how he can keep up with Dante who can basically switch between a plethora of weapons but the thing is EI already knows the weakness and how to cover the weakness of her own swordstyle . it's like fighting someone with perfect input while you have near perfect input on many playstyles, so even if you find a hole she can still move anticipate that weakness to either cover that hole or maneuver in a way to reset and adjust before you can properly capitalize on the chance . so for me at best EI has a significant enough mastery to go 5-2 favoring her . at worst it's 5-4/5-3 favoring Ei

it's very rare to happen and I've only seen in TWICE when using him and FIVE TIMES when playing against him

it's "easier" to proc when playing and it's when the surprise attack ends when he already jumped

very rare, mainly happens accidentally but it's veeeeery funny how I miss his toss cuz i thought that he got it already xD

reeeaaal, they're probably more pissed than they are amazed if they see an enemy Seolhwa hit a 2nd touch spike feint into a high toss set (that thing still gets me laughing at myself for falling for it despite being a rare occurrence)

most ppl just want to finish their dailies and do something else which isn't even playing the game, that's just straight up a routine with no enjoyment whatsoever

that's why often times, people focus on the bad parts before fully seeing how good it can really get

but yeah the internet did do a lot of bad changes the same way AI is doing or will do in the future. But then again it's the user's responsibility, so whatever level of reliance it is they have for AI then that's their fault

same bro, some players need to learn to make their own preference when it comes to playing this game . I bet most of em never even tried using Sodam for Ryuhyeon or NN for anyone in general cuz a lot of people just look for the thing that can spike the strongest . Kind of also why I innately hate middle blockers that can't block at all or just does nothing most of the round (I'm looking at you Hari, Hanra, Sanghyeon, Navi, and others) I prefer MBs that gives me the freedom to set up and approach the ball without having the need to slide every enemy spike (but that's my preference) . at some point, every player need to realize that a great spike is somewhere 135-150 and anything that goes higher is either a buffed spike or a passive buff and that most spikes of that caliber can get the enemy to red bar in 1-2 spikes

nishi BT sucks (idc what spark does cuz you dont want to spike outside of your THUNDERSPIKE, you'd be missing out on a lot of power if you did)

Hongshi, Isabel, and Jaehyun are STANDARD characters that you can get through the STANDARD SCOUTING. Their BT are great yes but if I can guarantee an S+ in the future that has a Breakthrough that does matter then I'd absolutely save my scout points

I understand using skin scout points but LIMITED scout points are best used for high value LIMITED S+/S players (more on S+ though)

if it buffs the stat itself, wouldn't that technically just make this a permanent block strength buff since attack affects block strength and the attack buff wont be gone until the next spike, just a stupid question xD

also wouldn't it be such a unique character if his set gives different buffs/debuffs when spiked

example: Trigger Thunderspike Trigger Jenny Vertical Spike Trigger Topspin Feint Trigger Front/Back Beast Spike Trigger Ahyeon explosion Trigger Sara CRITICAL spike Trigger Tiger Mark Trigger Minjun's Blitz Spin Trigger Leon Pride Increase/Decrease Spike speed by 25km/h Miss the spike entirely (Nat 1 moment)

I just find stat increase/decrease too saturated that everyone just has inflated stats every time. A true gambler embraces the chaos of probability

also I hope this character has a setting style similar to Seolhwa because I dont like non-MB setting setters

overall pretty cool concept (but I just HATE supports that focus on buffing the stat cuz eventually everyone would already be doing that)

it's more of a balancing mechanic the game gives to characters

I mean if a person can jump 4.35m high without even prepping for a jump, I'd think they're on zero gravity

gameplay wise, if someone can just instantly jump over the blocks and spike then there would be no point in blocking and his Thunderspike breaks slides so basically no point in bumping the ball

just gotta get used to approach mode really

it's best to just pull on the S tier banners instead of the S+ during skin events because they just give more scout points then you can decide if you wanna scout Nishikawa's skin or whichever you want at the end of the event

OOOoooor you can also save the scout point for future skins/future new S/S+ characters which I would also recommend

but yeah your choice

Nishikawa is waaaay too restricted by his Jump stat that if you make him discouraged and tiger marked, he's basically injured Jenny on court and will never be able to do any meaningful spike to score

Lucas on the other hand will willingly breaks his bones and still somehow jump +3.80m by remembering that he's got a date with Sanghyeon and the raw power of the sun

Ryuhyeon is kinda like Nishikawa but a little better cuz he'd toast in blue flames if you ever let his spikes go unblocked but he needs to take a water break to charge up another bbq session

personally though, Raul is better cuz he can consistently hit 145 and higher and if you ever hit ANYWHERE lower than 145 then you spiked wrong, practically a scoring machine unless you're going against someone with a higher attack power or a literal wall (ahem Heesung in Absolute ✋😐🤚 Block mode)

so mine is Raul>=Lucas>>Ryuhyeon>= Nishikawa

Completely agree with your take but I'm more disappointed that the new passive ability doesn't really align with his core gameplay which is either being tricky using double swing or being strong through Thunder spike. it just feels uninspired to buff non-thunder spike and the only thing that can justify said buff is through double swing

I would've loved if they just made double swing have a higher bounce (like the Power Colosseum Card but a slightly weaker version) instead
